As IT PM I am responsible and accountable for the delivery of any project assigned to me.
The projects vary in scope, business area and budget.
As a food and non-food retail company, we as IT Business Services are responsible for delivering business value in our projects to our customers in the holding. My projects vary between Infrastructure projects like Software Lifecycle management on the OS level, to SAP Major Release Updates in SAP Retail or SAP-FI.
Application Owner of the payment platform of our webshops. I am responsible for:
1) the quality and stability of the application, that is based upon the JEE Java platform (now gradually moving towards a microservice based architecture)
2) the daily operative project management of the Scrum team
3) Priorisation and update of the user story backlog
4) business analysis together with our product owner
5) Contact person / implementation manager for the interface implementation of the payment service providers (like Creditcard institutions)
6) Third level support
7) DevOps: Managing the application servers together with our hosting partner(s)
Project Summary
Our platform is based upon a REST-Service based architecture. Still running on wildfly app-server but to be moved to a microservice based architecture in the next years.
My role in this process will be to assure the platform as developed now will continue running as we move and migrate to the new target platform. As we are the central payment platform in our online shops, we will also move gradually to the stores, so becoming the central payment platform for all our saleslines (omnichannel).
Performance, stability and it-security belong to the main non-functional requirements that have to be tackled.
Together with our product owner I plan the releases, the features and the rollouts of our application.
Senior Consultant in different projects for different customers in different branches.
My major projects were:
- On site coordinator of a software development project using Scrum and agile techniques for an insurance company in Hamburg (2009- 2011)
- Software developer of the Ship Information System of the German Lloyd in Hamburg (2011)
- Businesss analyst for the Debtor management Application of the Mediamarkt Saturn Webshops in Ingolstadt (2012-2015)
Programming java based applications for different well known german car building companies.
Project management of archaeological excavations in the Dresden Area.
Excavation of a neolithic (Bandceramic) Site and of a Middle bronze age site.
Responsible for the team and scientific objectives of these projects.
Further projects included:
- Management of the area photography colltection
- Planning, execution and reporting of a prospective survey using GIS and GPS Measurements on the track of the Autobahn A 17 from Dresden to Prague.
Main subjects were: - Archaeometallurgy (XRD / XRF Analysis) - Palaeopathology - Geophysical survey methods - mathematics and statistics for archaeologists
Mediterranean archaeology (focus on Greece) and archaeology of the Near east belonged to the main subjects of my studies. Additionally a subsidiary in archaeometry and archaeological sciences paved the way for my studies in Bradford (UK).
