Greater Beirut Water Supply Project, Lebanon :
− The project is for the construction of a series of tunnels and pipes to convey
water from the existing hydroelectric power system tunnel near the village of
Joun some 30 Km south of Beirut to the site of proposed reservoir at Hadath
village. HOMAN was a nominated subcontractor for CMC RAVENA with a
main sub-contract agreement of more than 52 million dollars works.
HOMAN scope are as listed below:
− Preparation of all permeant road for the TBM to be mobilized to site.
− Execution of all Portal areas where the TBM machine will break thru.
− Execution of 2 Ventilation shaft for the Tunnel.
− Execution of Washout for the Tunnel.
− Execution of Access roads with length exceeds 4 Km with all related
drainage system, reinforced concrete walls, sewer lines, rehabilitation of
existing services, marking, etc...
− 9.5 Km of twin ductile iron pipe of 1400 mm each with a pressure rating 25
bar with all related valve chamber, air valve chamber, washout out chamber,
Distribution chamber, Flowmeter chamber, Thrust block, etc...
− Traffic Diversions and alternative road since the pipe line works are along a
very congested areas that already suffer from traffic problem. The pipe line
starts from Khalde Area till Hadath passing thru old Saida road.

in addition to 151 km of Ductile iron pipes, 9 distribution tanks, 3 booster
station, and 45 km 33 KV OHL. The project is a combinations of
Infrastructure and building project since there was 52 building related to the
Treatment plant and the boosterstations. The project had several challenging
topics stages starting with Design, Execution, Operation, and finally with the
preparation of Legal case to the ICC.
− Project DBO Cost: 102, 823, 025 American Dollars.
− Client : Ministry of Municipality and Tourism, Kurdistan - Iraq
Water Supply system including Tank at Prime Minister Resident - Erbil:
− Design and built of 5, 000 m3 water tank including a 250 l.m. of ductile iron
pipe and pumping system.
− Project DB cost: 900, 000 American Dollars.
− Client: Prime Ministry Engineering Office.
