During one of my off rotational periods as Consultant Doctor in CJJV, I worked as locum Doctor for International SOS Airways Clinic, located at the Airways hotel in Port Moresby. The vacant position was Senior Medical Officer as Expatriate Doctor.
This highly demanding post involved living and working in a camp with more than 7000 workers, in a remote site in Papua New Guinea. CJJV is part of PNG LNG Project for LPG mines and refinery. This post was rotational - 6 weeks on, 6 weeks off.
As the location was high risk for Malaria and TB, screening of workers and local population were updated constantly and repeated where necessary. Latent TB workers were screened monthly
Fulfilling a long held wish, I worked for the Australian Locum Medical Service. This post consisted of OOH home visits, including weekends and public holidays. My contract was renewed twice.
