Responsible for providing basic nursing care to assigned cardiac patients by carrying out the cardiologist orders for required tests/procedures, medication administration and other nursing care in line with set procedures and protocols.
o Ensures efficient and coordinated clinic flow by coordinating and planning clinic activities; communicates patient’s needs; makes referrals; serves as a resource person of insurance information.
o Assesses patient’s vital signs such as taking blood pressure, weight, pulse and temperature.
o Informs physician of patient status; responds to phone messages from patients and informs physicians as needed; orders supplies and stocks; sterilizes instruments.
o Assist physician during diagnostic procedures
o Administer drug as order by the physician

Functions and Duties
o Secure and records physical, psychological health and development history, critically evaluates history, utilize the information in planning and carrying out health care regimen.
o Utilize nursing process in planning nursing care, responsible for rendering quality nursing care to patient with in an assigned unit with function depending upon the organizational structure of the hospital.
o Performs basic nursing procedures such as admitting patients from emergency room and transfer in from area, charting the Nurses notes, bed making, giving early morning care, evening care, cleansing bed bath and hygiene, care of the back, prevention of bed sores, collecting laboratory specimen and post mortem care
o Assist and executes nursing function such as intravenous therapy, oxygen inhalation, catheterization, nebulization, suctioning taking as indicated.
o Assist and perform life saving interventions such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, ambo bugging and cardio version.
o Assist physician during doctors round and in other medical diagnostic procedures.
o Prepares and administer emergency drugs and treatment via intravenous, intramuscular and oral route. Document patient's response accordingly.
o Coordinates the health care regimen of the patients and acting as a client advocate when indicated.
