IT Consultant at Danish Government Hospitals
  • Denmark - Copenhagen
  • January 2015 to June 2017

As IT Consultant, I had the opportunity to work on various IT projects in different government hospitals in Denmark. These projects included the TDR Project, Windows implementation project, and a test project. Each project brought unique challenges and provided valuable experiences in implementing and managing IT solutions within the healthcare sector.

The TDR (Telemedicine and Digitalization of Records) Project was a significant undertaking aimed at digitizing patient records and integrating telemedicine solutions into the hospital's infrastructure. As a member of the project team, I played a key role in deploying electronic health record systems, ensuring secure data transfer, and integrating telemedicine platforms. This project aimed to enhance patient care by improving access to medical records and enabling remote consultations, ultimately increasing efficiency and reducing paperwork.

The Windows implementation project was focused on upgrading the hospital's IT infrastructure by migrating from older operating systems to the latest Windows platform. This project involved thorough planning, coordination, and implementation of the Windows environment across multiple hospital departments. I was responsible for conducting compatibility assessments, coordinating with vendors, and executing the deployment of new systems. This project significantly improved system performance, security, and compatibility, enabling healthcare professionals to provide better patient care.

Another project I participated in was a test project, which aimed to evaluate new healthcare software solutions before their implementation. I worked closely with the project team to design and execute test plans, identify and document software issues, and provide feedback to developers and vendors. This project required attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective communication with stakeholders to ensure that the software met the hospital's specific requirements and complied with industry standards.

Each of these projects brought its own set of challenges and rewards. Working in the government hospital environment required a deep understanding of healthcare processes, patient data privacy regulations, and the importance of maintaining high levels of data security. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, nurses, administrators, and IT staff, was crucial for successful project outcomes.

These experiences provided me with valuable insights into the complexities of implementing IT solutions in healthcare settings. I learned how to navigate the unique challenges of the healthcare industry, adapt to changing requirements, and deliver projects that positively impacted patient care and operational efficiency.

Overall, my involvement in the TDR Project, Windows implementation project, and test project in various government hospitals in Denmark allowed me to gain a comprehensive understanding of IT project management within the healthcare sector. It equipped me with the skills, knowledge, and expertise necessary to successfully implement and support IT initiatives that improve patient care and streamline hospital operations.

At the same time received instruction in analysing and transforming a business's requirements within the area of networks and electronics, and transform the requirements into technical solutions. Instruction takes place as a combination of team instruction, project work - individually and in groups - based on cross-discipline issues and always in an application-oriented manner. During the course of my studies I got in close contact with the business community and learned the fundamental basics of Windows Servers, C# and Computer network.
