Deal sourcing for Swicorp recently launched fund, assisting Advisory and Principal Investment teams in deal sourcing

* Deal sourcing Private Equity: Key focus on deal sourcing for Intaj II, a US$ 400 million fund focusing on sectors driven by consumer demand in the MENA region. Screening, meeting, negotiating, valuing a number of deals throughout the MENA region for Intaj II
* Deal Sourcing Advisory and Principal Investment: Assist Swicorp Advisory team in their pitch to potential clients in and present opportunities to Swicorp Principal Investment team
* Transaction execution: Follow up on transactions where Swicorp and its investors have already invested in, namely a sugar plant in Egypt currently, a financial leasing company in Algeria and a green field company in Egypt to produce MDF wood

* Source projects in the core strategy of Savola Foods through MENACA
* Build business plans for the projects under review in cooperation with advisors and in house resources, and in coordination with business units
* Present projects to Executive Investment Committee and to Savola Foods Board
* Lead the delivery and closing (due diligence, legal, debt, etc…) of projects approved by Board
* Oversee and review, as part of the Savola Foods Executive team, operations of business units
across the MENACA region; on a monthly basis and during the bi-annual plan review
* As member of the Savola Foods Executive Team, involved in the strategy review of Savola Foods and the vegetable oil and sugar business units across MENACA

Senior member of the Swicorp private equity team, responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and investing in companies across the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey

* Oversee the management of Emerge Invest fund, a US$ 60 million open end fund focusing on
green field opportunities in the MENA region. Part of the investments were a sugar beet plant which
was relocated from Europe to Egypt, a financial leasing company in Algeria where Banque Exterior
D’Algerie is a main shareholder and other projects.
* Manage the relationship and present to the Emerge Invest fund investors investment opportunities
and present updates on fund and its performance
* Source, originate and evaluate new private equity investment opportunities, primarily green field
project for Emerge Invest and also investment opportunities for Intaj Fund
* Supervise teams to analyze potential targets including secondary and primary research into
companies and industries, developing / evaluating investment thesis, identifying diligence issues
and establishing valuation
* Lead and supervise execution teams (due diligence sessions, drafting, modeling, transaction
documentation, coordinate closing mechanics).
* Developed and presented investment recommendations/memoranda to investment committee
* Helped in the set up of Swicorp office in Dubai, and supervised administrative, banking and other
operational and logistical office related matters

* Acquired through privatization, a cement plant owned by the Sudan government
* Put in a place on turnkey basis a 120 MW power plant for National Electricity Company, Sudan, on
medium term financing using a combination of private and multi lateral funding
* Represented in the UAE the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit
(ICIEC), subsidiary of Islamic Development Bank (IDB) promoting ICIEC to companies and banks
* Executed trade contracts under ICIEC Credit Insurance cover to West African Islamic Countries, and
other countries members of ICIEC
* Executed contracts under the United Nations Oil for Food Program for Iraq
* Supervising and directing the day to day administrative, accounting and operation of the company

- Arranged trade finance for company customers through discounting of L/Cs, bills of exchange and promissory notes.
- Arranged syndication, participation and sell down of trade and project finance transactions with financial institutions, forfeit houses and banks.
- Arranged asset backed lending on financial lease and other structures
- Set up and participated in Islamic structured financing

- Manage an equity portfolio investing in major international securities markets
- Monitor the Kuwait Stock Exchange and publish a weekly newspaper report on same

- Trade the shares listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange
-supervise a financial information database system on companies listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange
