Hadi Riachi

* Head of Underwriting and managing a team of Line of business heads and
underwriters for Property and Specialties, the latter consisting of Engineering &
Construction, Marine, Energy, Credit, Surety, Political Risk Insurance.
* P&L ownership across all lines of business for China and ownership across all
technical underwriting and reinsurance topics for regulatory and statutory
responsibilities.
* Worked on numerous projects and initiatives including the integration of the China
acquisition, developing a local 5 years strategy and replacing the Core Insurance
Platform for the organisation.

Head of Underwriting, Reinsurance and Risk Management across China for our
branches in Shanghai, Beijing and Nanjing for Property, Engineering, Marine and
Casualty covering Commercial and Personal Lines business - Household, Personal
Accident and Travel.
* Planning and managing department business operations and resources in line with
agreed performance targets, service standards, budgets and wider business and
change objectives.
* Responsibility for line of business P&L. Monitor performance and take action to
ensure that performance is in line with Plan.
* Supporting and encouraging the identification and implementation of appropriate new
and better ways of doing things so as to improve service and efficiency.
* Maintaining an effective and proportionate business control environment in line with
internal group policy and material external legislative and/or regulatory requirements.
* Contributing to the development of segment and local customer propositions, and
sales plans, bringing knowledge and insight of the customer base, market and risks,
and internal capabilities and capacity, in order to increase penetration of existing
customers and/or expand the business mix.
* Responsible for RSA Global Network business in China which the main task to
service global clients in China.

Asia
* Managing underwriting, insurance risk and reinsurance across our Asian operations

Monitoring operational and financial performance and take timely and appropriate
action to address issues arising.
* Contributing to the development of segment and local customer propositions, and
sales plans, bringing knowledge and insight of the customer base, market and risks,
and internal capabilities and capacity, in order to increase penetration of existing
customers and/or expand the business mix.
* Managing proportional and non-proportional reinsurance treaties on a regional and
local level.
* Monitoring portfolio performance through insurance risk controls. Typically involving
technical underwriting audits, underwirting file reviews and other controls that we put
inplace to ensure portfolio compliance with strategy, plan and risk appetite.
* Inorganic growth opportunities development. Worked on Portfolio Transfer deals and
M&A projects.

* Head of underwriting for property and engineering portfolios.
* Set the strategy and appetite for the portfolio.
* Manage top and bottom line targets ( NWP and COR)
* Develop / update underwriting guidelines.
* Lead a team of trading undewriters to achieve both top and bottom line targets.
Providing expert advice, guidance and coaching to less qualified or experienced
colleagues to address technical referrals and raise standards and expertise in the
technical community
