Project MEP Coordinator - Electrical Engineer (Reporting to Project Manager)
Project Overview: Central Market Redevelopment Project (Mixed Use Complex): • Residential Tower - 6 Basements+95 Floors (The highest building in ABU DHABI)
• Office Tower - 6 Basements+60 Floors (The highest office building in ABU DHABI)
Client: ALDAR

MEP Designer: BDSP
* Review all Shop drawing schedule and Material Schedule and compare with program and Coordinates all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, drainage, lifts, etc with civil activities.
* Briefs and report to the PM, PCM as and when required regards progress, problems, solutions, changes, daily reports, etc. Advises the PM and the PCM prior to commencement and on completion of any activity including remedial works.
* Liaises with Consultant, subcontractors, suppliers, PM, PCM, and PEs to ensure an effective interface with the construction schedule and full compliance
* Inspects ongoing works and verifies compliance of services submissions, material deliveries and performed works
* Monitors all subcontractors' resources to ensure adequacy and availability to maintain the construction schedule.
* Ensures that material schedule in conforming to the works schedule to verify that orders are placed on time with adequate arrangements. And monitoring all material long lead items.
* Coordinates daily his activities with his services subcontractor's activities and ensures effective interfaces, progress, submissions etc.
* Supervises and ensures that works activities are performed in accordance with the construction schedule, latest approved drawings, documents, materials, mock-ups. Check them against contract drawings and VOs.
* Coordinates with consultant regards approvals of drawings/material submittals related to all services.
* Coordinates, monitors, reviews his services subcontractors/suppliers proposals, samples, shop drawings, technical data, makes recommendations where required, agreeing them with the concerned, required changes are incorporated to ensure smooth matching with authorities regulations and civil works before submission.
* Prior to commencement of a particular operation, verifies that a Method Statement is required/available/approved, and is the latest valid issue. Checks SDs, MSs, materials technical data against specifications and contract drawings prior to submission.
* Monitors and supervises daily the progress and the quality of the works, acts to make deficiencies rectified. Raises NCRs and ensures quality awareness of his subcontractors.

• Systems Implemented for the above Projects: * Power Distribution System - ABB - Czechoslovakia, Saudi Arabia,
• Office Tower: Total Connected Load - 21.16 MVA and Total Demand - 6.13 MVA
• Residential Tower: Total Connected Load - 18.02 MVA & Total Demand - 6.3 MVA
* Standby Power Generation System - Cummins - UK
• Office Tower: 2 x 11 kV Generators Rated at 2.0 MVA Synchronized to supply the essential and non-essential load of the Tower as the need arise. The system is interfaced with the PMMS for load shedding and distribution.
• Residential Tower: 1 x 11 kV Generators Rated at 2.0 MVA to supply the essential and non-essential load of the Tower as the need arise. The system is interfaced with the PMMS for load shedding and distribution.
* PMMS (Power Management and Monitoring System) - ABB, Finland
• Has been integrated to Low Voltage Electrical Distribution System for load shedding and distribution for essential loads and to provide option for non-essential loads to be connected to the system during emergency power and normal power distribution.
* Fire Alarm & Voice Evacuation System - Simplex, USA
• Both Towers has been provided with 6 to 10 main panels with 9 loops in each panel and each loop can have devices of up to 250 ( smoke detectors, heat detectors, Manual Call Points (MCPs), interface modules, etc.)
* MSFD & Smoke Extract System - Simplex, USA
• Integrated with the Fire Alarm System
* Very Early Smoke Detection Alarm (VESDA) System - Xtralis -Australia
• Provided in areas with heights that are more than 15 meters i.e. in GF Grand Entrance for more secure fire detection system.
* Central Battery System - Cooper CEAG, Germany
• Most efficient way to provide emergency lighting system for life safety. All light fixtures are provided with addressable modules for monitoring and controls and ease of maintenance. For both Towers 2 Main Control panels are provided in the Plant Rooms and 9 sub panels are strategically located in floors for distribution.


* Security, CCTV & Access Control System - Johnsons Controls, USA
• Full security options are provided for both Towers and flexible that can be programmed to meet the Facilities management requirements. Installations are IP based that utilisize the structured cabling backbone (copper and fiber optic) for distribution, the system is fully integrated with the OTIS lifts and external door entry system.
* Lightning Protection & Earthing System - Duval Messein (Satellite 3) - France & Furse- UK
• The project are being protected by the Faraday Cage Installation for side flash that are fully integrated with the façade aluminium elements and Satellite 3 is installed at the roof with the coverage radius of 60 meters for lightning protection.
* Aviation Warning & Lighting System - Cooper Crouse Hinds - USA
• Installed for both Towers as per the Abu Dhabi Civil Aviation Authority requirement and ICAO.
* Lighting & Blinds Control System - Helvar - UK
• As part of LEED requirement, the Towers are provided with addressable Lighting Control System (DALI) that are fully automated & monitors even the lamp hour burn of each fixtures that in turn can be utilize by Facility Management to monitor the frequency of maintenance of each lamp. It utilizes and harnesses the natural light during the day from the sun with its built-in sun tracking algorithm to let the maximum light in by controlling the blind position and angle. As programmed it will maintain the lux level in the offices and automatically turn off lights that are not required or dimmed them for less power consumption. All are being controlled in Central Control Room.
* Structured Cabling System - Systimax - USA
• Provided the backbone for data and voice including the IP (POE) based Security, CCTV & access control system, Lighting & Blinds Control System, Video Intercom System, etc.
* Video Intercom System - Commend - Austria & BPT - Italy
• Integrated with the Security and Access Control System to facilitate the Tenants Entry in the Car Park Lifts Entrance and Main GF Entrance.
* Active Network System - Cisco Systems (Gulf Business Machines) - USA
• Provide a High Speed LAN network for the Tower to integrate ICT requirement for both Towers.
* Disabled Toilet & Refuge Alarm System - Baldwin Boxall Communications - UK
• To comply with DDA (Disability Descrimination Act) Towers are provided with the system located in Disabled Toilets and Lobbies.
* External Feature Lighting System - Lumasense Philips Color Kinetics - USA
• Integrated in Lighting Control System and LED Lighting for low power consumption and to control the lighting color with ease.
* Interface with the Lifts (Otis-USA) high speed double deck lifts, Building Maintenance Units (Manntech-Germany) for external façade cleaning.

* Prepare all the previous comment for inspection request to make hand over for the project.
* Prepares the necessary records and reports of all inspection and non-compliance records (NCR)
