Education city is a diversified work environment where my Dept. provides technical and logistical support to a wide number of clients such as university campuses, research labs, health care facilities, schools and other commercial entities. HSSE directorate operates within a shared services delivery model based on service level agreements with clients.
Role and responsibilities:
• Department objectives review at the directorate level.
• Aligned department objectives with directorate objectives.
• Reviewed and updated score cards and KPI’s.
• Conducted budget review sessions for the Dept.
• Reviewed department SLA’s for shared services purposes and ensure client’s expectations are met.
• Participated in directorate organizational chart restructuring.
• Liaise and coordinate with consultants and developed scope of work documents for consultancy services including fire safety and emergency and crisis management.
• Deliver level 1 and 2 emergency and crisis management training jointly with consultants and other stakeholders
• Work closely with HR, Communication and BCM team to deliver an integrated emergency and crisis management framework.
• Acted as the BCP champion for the HSSE directorate BCP plan.
• Develop training needs analysis documents for Department outsourced services.
• Developing Job descriptions for newly created positions and contributed to the new job family initiatives.
• Member of a technical committee for the development of Qatar foundation corporate HSE management system in line with ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001.
• Facilitate the occupancy of new facilities inside and outside education city.
• Provide fire safety design technical input during the concept design stage, detailed design stage and commissioning and testing stage.
• Review of fire strategy reports and provide technical advice and operational strategies
• Develop fire safety standards and strategies for facilities.
• Witness life safety systems testing inspections by the enforcement authorities and provide assurance to senior management on readiness of facilities for occupancy.
• Act as the duty emergency management team leader and have led a number of major incidents successfully.

• Specifying and determining the equipment need for setting up of Emergency Control Centers
• Develop pre-incident response plans
• Preparation of crisis and emergency management presentations for response levels 1 and 2
• Review of PTW system
• Participate in Integrated Management Systems meetings
Fire Safety Day to day assignments

• Provide consultation to facility end users in matters related to fire safety, emergency response planning and crisis management.

• Conduct snagging for life safety systems prior to facility occupancy phase
Role and responsibilities:
Working in an upstream oil and gas exploration and drilling environment responsible for the following:
• Deliver against delegated elements of the entity CCM/ER (Crisis & Continuity Management/ Emergency Response Plan).
• Support annual entity risk assessment through appropriate input regarding CCM/ER risks.
• Develop, implement and maintain entity CCM/ER plans.
• Support sourcing of the materials, equipment, personnel and supplies necessary to implement CCM/ER plans.
• Ensure the provision and documentation of training and exercises to maintain capability of response personnel operating within company ICS.
• Maintain CCM/ER facilities in a state of readiness.
• Implement lessons learned process within CCM/ ER to capture improvements identified during exercises and actual incidents.
• Provide professional advice and support during CCM/ER response.

Role and responsibilities:
Business Continuity
• Establish jointly with BCP consultants a company wide Business Continuity Management programme according to BS 25-999 Parts 1 and 2
• Develop Business Continuity plans jointly with stakeholders in the organization business functions
• Conduct training sessions for business functions owners on how to develop Business Continuity Plans
• Conduct BIA and Identify RTO’s, RPO’s and MTPD for the business functions across the organization
• Assist in Developing business impact analysis template for the organization
• Assist in the development of a company wide Business Continuity Management Procedures
• Develop self-assessment checklist for the Business Continuity Management Systems as per BS 25-999 Part 2
• Assist business functions owners to develop critical staffing lists and call trees
• Coordination with external service providers to identify business dependencies
• Follow up with business functions BCP Coordinators for plan completion and sign off
• Review BCM Gap Analysis reports and follow up action item implementation
• Conduct one on one sessions with Business function owners to complete BC Plans
• Coordinate and participate in BC mobilization exercises involving critical staff across the organization
• Fallback location (Alternate site) preparation and resources requirement analysis
• Coordinate with Documents and Standards to establish document numbering system for the BCM documents, including, plans, procedures and overarching documents
• Establish Project tracking tools
Assist in developing Standard Operating procedures for the First Emergency Responders dealing with different types of emergencies in a large LNG processing plant as per NFPA, UK and industry best practices:
• Prepare emergency procedures, plans, coordinate and carry out drills and exercises
• Carry out training and evacuation drills for various facilities including high rise buildings.
• Develop Emergency Action plans for the following scenarios: Fire, hazardous materials, Elevator entrapment and loss of life safety systems in a high rise building
• Develop Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEP) for employees with special needs in a high rise building
• Coordinating and participate in crisis management drills and exercises
• Writing up of reports and following up of recommendations
• Organizing crisis management workshops
• Assist in reviewing organization crisis management plans
• Representing own organization in Mutual Aid agencies emergency forum meetings
Fire Systems Testing and commissioning
• Take part in the commissioning and testing of Fixed Foam Firefighting systems and Fixed Water firefighting systems in buildings and industrial area
• Supervise commissioning and testing of fire fighting systems in a High rise building
• Establish with Fire alarm Engineers the Fire alarm Configuration for a high rise building as per NFPA 72 to facilitate the evacuation plan
Training
• Conduct of Fire safety inductions for company employees and contractors
• Conduct of Fire Warden training
• Develop training packages for first res ponders in the following subjects:
Fire Safety
• Reviewing of contractors project safety plan for a 58 story building under construction
• Review consultants Code review on life safety systems specifications against NFPA Standards
• Participating in project meetings
• Liaising with the fire department and ensure compliance with local fire codes
• Review of as built drawings and ensure compliance with NFPA standards
• Formalizing fire procedures for the building occupants
• Close coordination with Civil Defense to finalize the building fire evacuation strategy
• Conducting table top exercises for Security staff on emergency action plans
• Writing up of exercise reports, recommendations and following up of action items
Working as an International Fire and Safety Training Consultant for Washington Hall Fire Training Centre, (Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service), assisting in delivery and facilitation of fire safety training:
• Theoretical and practical training for recruitment courses and advanced courses in fire safety and operational fire fighting for a wide range of Clients, Dubai Civil Defence ( UAE), Arabian Gulf Oil Company (Libya) and Qatar Civil Defense
• Participating in field visits for Fire stations all over the UK to have an insight of the key management and operational issues with running fire stations on a day to day basis.
• Participating in field visits for high profile buildings in the UK (Trafford Centre in Manchester, Canary Wharf in London, The Hilton Hotel in Manchester, Blackpool Tower in Blackpool) to provide trainees with fire safety arrangements and operational emergency response considerations for managing major incidents.
• Participating in field visits to chemical installations to have an overview of the operational fire safety requirements in fire stations protecting such high risk facilities, emergency planning and major incident command and management (COMAH sites)
• Act as an observer in Mutual Aid Fire Brigade Major Warehouse Incidents exercises
• Act as an observer in Mutual Aid Fire Brigade Hazmat Incidents exercises
• Delivery of various training courses in the field of fire safety mainly to the Oil and Gas industry such as Qatar Gas, Sahar Refinery Oman and ADNOC.
• Planning of training, lesson plans and taking part in the construction of course materials and contents
• Carrying out of dynamic risk assessments during training sessions to ensure the health and safety of trainees and for health and safety improvements of the fire ground and training facilities
• Acting as a safety Officer during practical training sessions to ensure the health and safety of trainees especially during confined space entry, use of Breathing Apparatus and live firefighting training.
• Preparation and writing up of student’s progression and performance reports acquired by Faculty manager or employers.
• Carrying out of health and safety briefs and inductions to new students and visitors.
• Taking part in weekly meetings with department staff in respect to training monitoring and development.
• Conduct generic fire risk assessment on various locations of the oil terminal.
• Review Job Safety Analysis (JSA) techniques to assess health and safety issues related to carrying out of specific activities and tasks.
• Conducting of health and safety inspections and writing up of inspection reports.
• Ensuring compliance with company health and safety policy and regulations by company employees and contractors, and ensure adherence to standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Monitoring and supervising Permit to work System (PTW).
• Providing emergency response to fire alarms and other emergencies
• Providing standby operations during aircraft movements and refueling operat
