• Advises and collaborates with other engineers/technical personnel involved in testing and repairing of transmitter equipment and schedules/oversees less experienced engineers.
• Performs diagnosis, testing, maintenance & preventive maintenance of high-power transmitters, low-power transmitters & related electronic equipment used in the broadcasting of Radio/Television programs.
• Performs maintenance and repair of more complex building mechanics. (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, cooling System, electrical/pneumatic controls, pumps, blowers, motors, etc.)
• Researches, plans & implements equipment & systems for transmitter facilities.
• Install & configure computer hardware operating systems and applications.
• Monitor and maintain computer systems & networks.
• Talk staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone to help set up systems or resolve issues.
• Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing & solving hardware or software faults.
• Respond within agreed time limits to call-outs.
• Provide support, including procedural documentation & relevant reports.
• Follow diagrams & written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system.
