Job Description
❖ Performs nursing tasks and procedures provided by the accepted methods and techniques under the policies and procedures by the Nursing Department
❖ Takes and records the clients' vital signs such as blood pressure, body temperature, pulse rate, respiratory rate and others as required in nursing policy for the benefit of the patients
❖ Maintains client's medical records on nursing observation and take actions such as giving medications and treatments to assure continuity and appropriate care.
❖ Observes reports and records any adverse reactions to medications or treatment immediately to the physician as well as informing the on duty supervisor
❖ Administers prescribed medications whether it is orally or parentally
❖ Starts, adjust and discontinues routine intravenous therapy upon the order of the physician and observe closely the progress of such recording the client observations, infusion, type and rate of the flowing infusion, quality of infusion process and assessing infusion site, including the type and size of catheter to be used as required by the nursing policies and procedures
❖ Brings the attention of appropriate superior any sudden or unexpected changes in vital signs or any other symptoms or observations on client's condition without taking any delays
❖ Applying or change dressing on wounds
❖ Transports clients to units, using a wheelchair or stretcher
❖ Explain medical instructions to patients and family members or significant others
❖ Assisting nursing staff whenever necessary to ensure the safety and welfare of the client
❖ Making nursing rounds giving special attention to the critical clients, pre and post operative clients, new admissions, and those who have contraptions such as respirators, IV hooked and alike
❖ Properly endorses pertinent matters and give complete discharges instructions as well.
