 Implementing IFRS 17 Module with the Actuary and the Software Service Provider
 Overseeing the implementation and achievement of the corporate business objectives and strategies.

 Establish annual departmental goals and objectives to define how the company's IT activities will contribute to the achievement of the company vision, mission, and strategy.
 Provide technology vision and leadership for developing and implementing IT initiatives that create and maintain the company’s position in the evolving and changing marketplace.
 Provide input into the development and allocation of the annual budget for the IT Department based on approved upon departmental activities.
 Develop relevant policies and procedures pertaining to the IT Department; ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures by all department staff.
 Review, maintain and ensure adherence to all IT infrastructure related contracts that includes network, internet, maintenance, and support contracts.
 Design, review and update IT policies, processes, and standard operating procedures periodically; oversee their implementation to ensure high quality and reliable technology support (i.e. networks, e-mail, data Center access, applications, and deployment support to meet business requirements).
 Review purchase requirements of hardware, software or any other IT peripherals and approve as per the company's delegation of authority matrix.
 Evaluate and select IT vendors to ensure that the company receives high quality IT services.
 Ensure that effective IT business continuity plans (back up servers, etc.) are in place to ensure minimal loss of working time and data in case of emergencies; oversee periodic tests to check the readiness of systems and staff to handle such contingencies.
 Lead IT operational awareness and investigate opportunities for the development and enhancement of current IT systems.
 Initiate and lead periodic internal customer satisfaction surveys to identify critical areas of improvement for the IT department in terms of its services.
 Assessment of new technology as per international trends and developments in the fields of IT to ensure best in class IT services for the company.
 Coordinate with Internal Audit to ensure regular review of IT security standards e.g. review audit reports to ensure that all transactions and processes are in compliance with the company approved policies, processes and procedures.
 Assist management in any other tasks as required by business.
 Allocate work to subordinates and ensure that subordinates are aware and familiar with assigned tasks and responsibilities Participate in the identification of training and development initiatives for all employees and ensure continuous on-the-job training and other learning interventions for the employees within the department.

My main responsibilities include Oracle Forms and Reports Designing and Development, SQL Functions and Procedures on Windows Platform, application management services, incorporating maintenance, enhancement and upgrade of application software Production support, which include problem investigation and resolution, user query handling etc, Impact analysis for new systems or modules, Provide solutions for upgrade and migration of applications to a new platform. Assisting in handling DBA activities for our Oracle Database Server 9i. Direct interaction with end-users and understanding requirements and implementing the same. Also to conduct testing at end-user terminal for the program developed and then providing maintenance and support for the same.

Premia Insurance System
The system was a general insurance system developed by Insyst / 3i Infotech. It was then modified and tailored to suit the company's business requirements and way of working. New Forms and Reports were added to it. It's an insurance system used for Underwriting. It also has administrative functions. It was linked to an Accounting System.
Orion Accounting System
The system was a general Financial Accounting system developed by Insyst / 3i Infotech. Like Premia, it too was then modified and tailored to suit the company's business requirements and way of working. New Forms and Reports were added to it. It's an Accounting system designed to completely handle all the financial needs of the Company including administrative functions. This was linked to Premia Insurance System.
