Assessment of credit proposals for corporate customers with emphasis on customer’s financial condition, cash flows, security structure, management ability, industry / regulatory and economic analysis
Assisting in reviewing the credit risk strategies and appetite and in ensuring compliance with the approved strategies/ appetite, reporting of breaches etc.
Reviewing various credit procedures as developed by Risk Management Department (RMD) and other credit policy related operations functions and providing feedback for improvements
Assessing on a regular basis, any changes in a specific industry or other portfolio segments and recommending (on the basis of these assessments) changes in the credit granting process/ criteria to reduce risk.
Reviewing new products, proposing/recommending/ approving procedures for credit risk management in such products. By evaluating the credit risk involved in launching of new products and reviewing all product process manuals leading to credit exposure pertaining to Corporate Credit risk
Review / monitor periodical returns / statements.
Co - ordinate with in-house departments for rectification of credit related irregularities
Ensuring that proper MIS / Log book is maintained for corporate proposals
Advising/ facilitating knowledge management programmes including training and awareness sessions for subordinates on credit risk management focusing on the credit assessment, rating, monitoring and reporting aspects.
ô Review and evaluate credit (working capital, fixed assets financing, trade financing, project financing, syndicate lending) requests for approval of senior management
ô Perform industry (status) and company analysis (business operations and management) to evaluate the suitability of the transaction on a stand alone and portfolio basis.
ô Conduct a thorough risk analysis; assessing the macro risks (country and industry level) and micro risk (business, financials, management, operational) - and subsequently highlight the risks along with mitigate (if any) to senior management while it considers the potential credit / investment.
ô Conduct a thorough financial analysis of the company to review of the feasibility of the investment
ô Review financial model and related assumptions considering the industry and company potential
ô Evaluate transaction structure (amount, form, tenor, margins, personal, corporate or financial guarantees) etc.
ô Evaluate the suitability, quality, value, and insurance coverage of the collateral
ô Evaluate proposed financial and non-financial covenants (both positive and negative) and add new ones and / or delete old ones, if suitable.
ô Reviews credit checks and makes site or company visits as necessary.

* Portfolio review and analyze in oversea including Commercial and Islamic banking.
* Review and evaluate credit proposals & prepare credit comments/recommendation for submission to SCO2/GH-RMG/President/Chairman explaining transaction structure, security, financial highlights & analysis, company analysis, industry brief, comments & recommendation, covenants etc.
* Portfolio under review includes Textile, Fishing, and Tea.
* Assists Credit Executive & Head of Credit Approvals Division in other assignments undertaken and as delegated from time to time.
* Keeps informed of changes in economic and/or market conditions that might affect credit risk and works with Credit Manager to make recommendations and implementation of changes to operations.
* Acts as team member in supporting unit’s goals through effective credit analysis of applications for credit.
I have very good understanding of Prudential Regulation of SBP and well conversant with legal and other regulatory requirements relating to Corporate & Commercial Banking Lending. My main areas of responsibilities are:
* Ensuring adherence to SBP Prudential Regulations and other internal & external Credit Restrictions.
* Review, Preparation & Completion of security documentation relating to all types of credit facilities.
* Preparation of the all type of hypothecation and Mortgagee related charge documentation and their timely registration, with SECP .
* Liaison with MCB’s internal Legal Affairs Division as well external Legal Counsel/ Retainer, for their opinion on various Standard/ Non standard documentation.
* Reviewing Insurance Policies and ensuring timely renewal of expiring policies.
* Reviewing the Drawing Power against Hypothecated as well as Pledged goods and ensuring that the outstanding is adequately secured.
* Conducting Inspections of the Hypothecated as well as Pledged stocks to confirm the actual status of Stock Position.
* Liaison with Corporate Marketing Platform, regarding the status of the outstanding discrepancies/ documentation shortfalls and there rectification.
* Maintain various MIS for monitoring of Drawing Power, expired insurance & overdue stock inspection and their follow up for effective monitoring and controls.
* Monitoring of Accounts with a total portfolio size of more than Rs.50.000 Billion.
* Ensuring that all the transactions of the Islamic Banking Branch are accompanied by a certificate from the Shariah Advisor and all the documentation is complete as per the formats vetted by approved legal counsel.
* Liaison with Commercial Branches regarding the status of the outstanding discrepancies/ documentation shortfalls and there rectification.
