I was an internee engineer in Ghazi Barotha Hydro Power Project Located in Attock. It's the most modern Power generating Project of 1450 MW.
It has five generating units each of 290 MW.
I interned there as Electrical Internee Engineer for one month and During my Internship, I gain a lot of knowledge in the field perspective.
There were Five main Sections:
Operation
Electrical Maintenance
Control and Protection
Switchyard
Mechanical
I learnt in operation, how to operate power plant, starting simulations and all this kind of mechanism.
In Electrical maintenance, we do different kinds of test on generators in the monthly, performing one test each weak, like rotor discharging and field and armature winding test.
In control and Protection, I got the overview of controlling process through PLC's and different types of speed sensors, oil level sensors, Pressure checking.
In switchyard, worked on the functioning of breakers isolators, transformers, busses protection scheme, relays and how all the operation is done.
In mechanical section, I did work on tranformer maintenance and testing and learnt about drawings of generator and system.
