Working in the implementation of a variety of projects in North of Jordan / Ruwaished with the following duties:
• Provide guidance for potential construction/rehabilitation for any site assigned by IOM, including the recommendations for cost-effectiveness and attention to environmental sustainability to the design and quality
control responsibilities.
• Compile and draft, with due regard to IOM procurement and legal policies, for competitive tender and with sufficient information for contractors to quote.
• Prepare layout drawings, scaled building plans, standard details, component schedules for each site.
• Standard specification clauses scheduled for each site.
• Prepare Bills of quantity (BOQs) for each site separately (including brands if applicable).
• Ensure accurate record keeping, construction inspections, quality audits and records of actual quantities maintained, drawings are kept up to date and variations and addendums are issued correctly.

to date and variations and addendums are issued correctly. Responsible for the technical review of any change orders on invoices, and payment applications which may include final payment.
• Provide reports in a timely manner to the senior management and Procurement and Logistics Unit.
• Work directly on the planning, design, specifications and execution of all phases of construction from initial planning to the final handing over of the site.
• Ensure due diligence steps are followed as per recommendations and guidelines from IOM and the Jordanian Engineering/Construction association.
• Assist towards developing specifications for engineering goods and services in coordination with relevant departments.
• Participate in Bids Evaluation Committees as assigned by the Chief of Mission, for relevant procurement activities and participate in the tender evaluation process including assessment of bidders’ qualifications, competency and experience and in analyzing and reviewing the quoted unit rates against IOM’s cost estimate.
• Making site inspections and approvals at key stages as agreed with respective contractors; issuing instructions as necessary, identify and remedy defective work, issue certificates, submit receipts and bills to IOM if they are not handed directly to IOM, and ensure quality control of the desired work.
• Work closely together with other relevant staff within IOM, including: Engineer(s), M&E Officer, Reporting officer, Project Assistants, Logistics Officers, etc.
• Liaise with relevant government authorities and partners throughout the project under the supervision of the Senior Emergency Coordinator to ensure that the project is on track with planned construction activities.
Working in the implementation of a variety of Infrastructure projects with the following duties:
• Perform regular work inspections to assure quality of works and compatibility with agreed specification, standard and drawings.
• Check and validate each invoice presented by contractor for the quantities that implemented on the site before making the required payment.
• Prepare with contractor and respective authority/owner for the handing over of each site when the project is near to finish.
• Prepare, check the quality and accuracy of all documents submitted by the field staff (Drawings, B.O.Qs, beneficiary lists, reports, analysis, forms etc.). Needs assessments and follow-up.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of baseline, end-line and needs assessments and coordinate with the AMEU and PD team as necessary.
• Ensure adequate and timely data collection and compilation.
• Prepare weekly field reports.
• Supervise regularly activities of relevant staff and progress of works.
• Make sure that all subordinated staff follow ACTED procedures.
• Communicate with the line manager and relevant staff for any difficulties linked to project implementation and propose solutions.
• Draft and follow up of program correspondence and reports.
• Prepare and submit activity reports (with the supporting data, if necessary) and assist the Programmer Development team when reports are due to the donor.
• support in designing, implementing and monitoring (against the relevant indicators) the hard WASH component of the project to a high standard.
• Draft WASH related projects plans and the related Terms of references according to sector acknowledged standards.
• Co-management (with other program engineers) of technical team and any other participating staff while in the field.
• Act as a clear communication channel between ACTED program, Consultant, contractors and beneficiaries.
• Closely coordinate with ACTED Hygiene Promotion/Community Mobilization and other teams.
• Support the Program Manager in their work with AMEU - Work with the outreach teams, other ACTED program teams, and the relevant FLATS departments so as to ensure good coordination.
• Participate in technical and sector meetings and working groups involving NGOs and relevant UN, donor agencies and all other inter-governmental institutions.
• Ensuring good quality and regular updates and monitoring of activities in an open and transparent manner.
• Coordinate the project with other actors, partners and donors in addition to the local authorities at field and area level.
Working in Company Projects as a site engineer with the following duties:
• Reviews project’s drawings, construction time schedule, and BOQ’s before starting construction, make sure to understand all projects aspects in coordination with the projects manager and project architect, and report any conflicts or missing information directly.
• Supervise works on site on daily basis, inspect all elements accordingly, instruct sub-contractors, craftsman, and labour to keep works going in the right direction, and follow up the execution of instruction.
• Follow drawings, BOQ’s, and specifications strictly, and insure that works on site do not deviate from them.
• Prepare daily reports for the project manager and the client’s review, and revise any requests from the client, and report them to the projects manager with suitable recommendations.
• Follow up construction time schedule on daily basis, and coordinate with different parties involved in the project accordingly.
• Anticipate delays, suggest solutions, and take the appropriate actions to solve obstacle, in order to insure that projects will be handed over on time, and report delays to projects managers, determine the cause, prepare recovery plan and revised time schedule to accelerate works and to avoid more delays.
• Prepare justified claims for time extension and variation orders, analyze them, and provide recommendation to projects manager, and prepare purchase orders and hand them to the projects manager.
• Ensure that required safety practices are being followed on site.
Working in Azraq camp support in the implementation of a variety of construction projects with the following duties:
•Overseeing the planning and implementation of the programme’s various infrastructure projects in Azraq camp, working with various internal and external actors including other NRC engineers, contractor, surveyors, architects, relevant ministries, donors and other partners working in the camp.
•Supervising contractors working on site, providing technical support and supervision as required to ensure technical quality and conformance to the design and the established standards and procedures devised for the project and ensuring safety standards are met.
•Conducting regular factory and onsite inspections of construction materials to ensure they meet the relevant specifications according to the relevant bill of quantity, quality assurance tests and reporting any issues.
•Supporting design projects, including the preparation and review of technical drawings, schematics and diagrams, developing clear specifications, bill of quantities and scope of works as required.
•Sourcing and managing any casual laborers required to support the project, including the contracting, supervision and payment of the laborers.
•Preparing and updating relevant spreadsheets and databases for tracking and monitoring construction activities, progress and costs associated with the project.
•Preparing technical reports to monitor or evaluate ongoing or completed construction works, the frequencies of which are to be determined by the project officer.
•Assuming the responsibilities of the project officer if requested in periods of absence.
