Job Responsibilities:
• Transcribing physician orders and providing other clerical functions to facilitate quality patient care.
• Scheduling appointments, preparing reports, transcribing dictation, typing from handwritten copy, filing, organizing patient histories, and understanding billing/ insurance practices to provide feedback to the Vice President of Nursing.
• Sorting, indexing and filing documents numerically, alphabetically or other predetermined classification according to established procedures.
• Assisting unit managers, nursing coordinators and support staff with projects ensuring efficient and cost-effective use of human/material resources in delivering secretarial services.
• Recording of data into a web-based management computer system as well as other databases, , , etc.
• Answering varied inquiries, over the phone or in person, explaining policies/procedures and resolving routine questions/problems independently.
• Composing/ typing correspondence on routine matters requiring knowledge of departmental operations/ regulations using standardized formats.
• Demonstrating continuous effort to improve operations, decreasing turnaround times, streamlining work processes to provide quality seamless customer service.
• Providing inputs for selecting, training, developing, and completing performance appraisal of the team in accordance with the institutions policies and applicable legal requirements.
