• Oversee large, complex program’s interventions to improve the Safe Motherhood services in Jordan’s public sector, through enhanced providers training, improved instruction and needs assessment; community-based awareness initiatives that supported, and improved delivery of quality services
• Direct the development and implementation of project ‘s strategic plans; while maintaining program focused in areas compatible with regional and global strategies
• Manage relationship with strategic partners including Ministry of Health(MOH), Royal Medical Services (RMS), Jordan University hospital (JUH) and other stakeholders
• Lead the Safe Motherhood team in implementing and applying sustainable safe motherhood quality improvement principles in 30 public hospitals (including MOH, Royal Medical Services (RMS) and Jordan University (JU) hospitals)
• Ensure effective data management, use, and documentation for safe motherhood services; through the development of new MOH maternal and neonatal medical records and the activation of electronic medical records Perinatal Information System (PIS) within the public hospitals
• Support the activated Hospital Safe Motherhood Committees (HSMCs) in 30 public hospitals to implement operational planning and confidential inquiries into maternal mortality and near misses as quality improvement approaches
• Assist the HSMCs with the provision and monitoring of Family Planning (FP) Post-Partum (PP) and Post-Abortion Care (PAC) counseling and services
• Conducting Outpatient Clinics Utilization and Satisfaction survey in Jordan’s Ministry of Health Hospitals
• Keeping the Chief Party of PHRplus informed of the progress being made on each project component and assuring that all project objectives are be completed in the appropriate time
• Coordinating the implementation of project activities, with Senior Technical Advisors regarding Hospital System Improvement, Hospital Accreditation and Rational Drug Use
• Reviewing and assuring the timely completion of Short-Term Consultant’s reports and Technical reports
• Assuring the timely completion of PHRplus monthly reports
• Reporting and technical writing for certain required manuals
• Assisting the Chief Party of PHRplus in cleaning, organizing and analyzing the data of Inpatient satisfaction survey in Jordan hospitals
• Assisting the Chief Party of PHRplus and the staff members in completing a study of the treatment patterns for lung cancer patients in Jordan
• Coordinating the implementation of project activities, with Senior Technical Advisors
• Reviewing and assuring the timely completion of Short-Term Consultant’s reports
• Advising PHRplus on the appropriate pharmaceutical software for hospital based inventory control
• Facilitating contact between PHRplus technical advisors and representatives of the private pharmaceutical industry and the Jordanian Food and Drug Administration (JFDA)
• Assisting in the development of work plans for the implementation of an Essential Drug List in Jordan, as well as hospital and clinic based formularies
• Drafting and editing technical and policy reports
• Suggestion of new products for Tabuk’s pipeline
• Search and follow up for licensing opportunities
• Clinical and scientific evaluation for licensing products
• Conducting clinical trial
• Supporting R&D and other departmental activities (e.g., literature review, obtaining samples for scientific testing)
• Conducting market surveys aimed at determining the appropriate drugs that are demanded by communities
• Maintained contact with the M.O.H. officials and leading international pharmaceutical companies
• Administered the pharmacy’s day-to-day affairs, including inventories, sales and new orders
• Preparation and processing of drug registration files for needed pharmacological, toxicological and clinical studies
• Submission and follow up of new product registration at the Ministry of Health in Jordan
• Initiating contacts and follow up with agents and health ministries abroad for registration of new products in their countries
• Conducting stability studies for finished pharmaceutical products
• Conduct raw material and finished product analysis (according to B.P. or U.S.P.)
