In the said role, my job responsibilities include the activities in the following areas: -
Strategy Management: -
• Assist in managing the integrated strategy management process and organize the required building blocks in form of conceptualization of Group’s Vision, Mission and Strategic goals in line with the aspirations set by the Top management (Board, GCEO and senior leadership). This includes Group wide strategy review as and when deemed suitable by the top management.

• As a part of developing a Group wide strategic theme, continuously review Group strategy by identifying changing fundamental trends in oil & gas industry and broader energy market at a global level on a regular basis. Perform deep dive analysis of key opportunities and threats arising from the same.

• Being a Dubai Govt entity, ensure ENOC group’s strategic alignment with various Dubai level and UAE-level strategic initiatives (for ex. Dubai Master Urban Plan 2040, DSCE, RTA mobility plan/initiatives etc.) to enhance value creation and contribution to local economy.

• As a part of Strategy team, support in conceptualization and execution of annual strategy workshops. Prepare a detailed findings report for Board’s review and recommendation, setting up the tone for annual strategy planning cycle.


• Co-ordinate with Business Segments & Corporate departments in preparation of strategic plans in line with the Group’s aspiration. This includes finalization of objective oriented strategic initiatives for business segments and regular progress tracking. Prepare necessary report for the Top management on a regular basis, highlighting key progress of such initiatives.

• Play a key role in continuous monitoring and evaluation of the group’s performance; highlighting performance deviation, related factors and subsequently developing an action plan.

• Conduct benchmarking of ENOC Group against the peer companies with respect to the changing industry wide trends and closely monitor the strategic responses adopted by the peer companies/ competition in changing business environment.

• Assist in conceptualize continuous improvements in strategy and planning process in order to make it more focused, integrated and effective. Work on developing and maintaining the relevant department policies and procedures.

• Ensure integration of strategy management process with other disciplines like risk management, portfolio management, reporting and communication etc.

• Assist in special projects and assignments in line with defined roles and responsibilities.

Business Planning & Budgeting
• Assist in managing the roll-out of business planning process by formulating the guidelines in accordance with Group’s strategic intent.

• Support in review and analyze business plans to ensure that the same are aligned with the group strategy and reflect the existing and anticipated operating conditions.

• As a part of plan review, conduct financial and operational analysis of the business plans to highlight areas of concern to the management all the way to finalization of the Group consolidated business plan and budget for availing endorsement from the top management.

• Develop and communicate relevant group wide assumptions for the development of business plans. Incorporate direction set by the GCEO in the planning assumptions.

I am rendering my services as a Business Analyst (Business development & Planning Division) to Contracting Sector of JUMA AL MAJID Group.I am part of the Management that is responsible for day to day operations & issues handling.

The services it offers ranges from MEP works, Safety & Security, Elevators, Operation & Maintenance, Technical Supplies, Switchgear, Interior Fit outs & furnishing, Metal Works, Solar Panels. My current role envisages Business Development & Analysis of the same. Apart from this I also handle business expansion for the entire Contracting & Services .

Roles & Responsibilities :-

Business Planning & Development:-
• This role envisages exploring new domains for Business development by Horizontal, Vertical expansion for the Business Units of Contracting & Services
• Understanding Sector Dynamics, conducting Market Research, Building Financial Models, Drafting Agreements like Non Disclosure, Distributorship Agreements etc.

ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT:-
MARKET RESEARCH
I have conducted market research for projects each within different sectors. It envisages strategic tie ups with world renowned companies to help company expand its line of operations. This role envisages Sector Research, Financial Modeling & Profitability Analysis, Agreements & Designing action plan for the company.
SOME OF THE PROJECTS HANDLED:-

• Mechanical Access Doors :- Strategic Alliance for the captioned subject, Market Research, Modeling, Contractual Agreements
• Energy Storage Solutions: - Formed Strategic Alliance with a South Korean company for partnership. Handled Initial technology discussions, Non Disclosure Agreements
• Energy Management Services: - Developing strategy for company’s expansion into futuristic energy management sector. Collaboration with a local /international partner & plan to become energy services company
• Solar Panels: - Acquired Distributorship for Solar Panels, this marks the entry of our Company into the Future promising Solar Energy domain. Also installed Pilot Project for the same
• Solder Wire Project: - Project on Investment possibility in a Solder Wire plant in Dubai. Work done included Feasibility study & recommendations
• Cable Trays Project: - Handled Cable Management Systems Project in collaboration with an Italian Company. Work included Feasibility Study
• Copper Lighting Project: - Worked on probable expansion of the Company into Lighting business, strategic alliance with EATON Industries
• Car Elevators Project: - Strategic Alliance with Chinese company for Passenger Elevator to cater to the lower market segment
• Air Conditioning Project: - Collaboration with a local company to create a solid base for outsourcing Air conditioners across the GCC
• Mechanical Car Parking:- Expansion into the future promising “ Mechanical Car Parking “ domain, to curb the parking problems in the Emirates
• Oil & Gas :- Strategy for expansion into Oil & Gas Sector

GENERAL WORK AS A SUPPORT FUNCTION

• Business Development :- Searching & Broadcasting Project Tenders, New Project information with possible Business Development Opportunity
• Balanced Score Cards :- To understand, implement & verify the balanced score of the Businesses to capture the overall key performance parameters.
• Sales Incentive Scheme: - Extensive work in collaboration with appointed consultants for implementation of the Sales Incentive scheme for the Sales staff.
• Enquiry Tracking: - To Implement Enquiry Tracking Platform for the Entire 9 divisions of Contracting & Services SBU. To understand business model of each BU& to evolve a Universal Enquiry Order Tracking Systems.
• Business Presentations:- Preparation of Business Review presentations for the Vice Chairman, Business Outlook, Business Plans, Quarterly Reports, Project Reports & Presentations to the Management .
