• Category handling, planning product ranges, preparing sales forecast and managing effective inventory.
• Responsible for maintaining the profitable product groups and for improving low performing product groups.
• Achieve category gross margin by keeping sales mix of promotional & non promotional lines.
• Improve margin by getting additional back margin through visibility/promo support.
• Planograming by complete range review of individual product groups, Coordination with Space Range Design (SRD) team for implementation of planogram.
• Coordination with Merchandise Planning Team & Replenishment team for promotional planning & maintain stock level
• Identification & development of vendors to improve the performance of category by launching new and exciting products at profitable margin. Negotiating terms of trade with vendors for profitable growth of the category.
• To review performance of category on weekly basis to understand the business trend & take corrective actions to improve the sales.
• Visit competition/market to do the SWOT analysis.
• Identify New Business Opportunities, track competition, identify & shortlist vendors, establish & improve terms of trade monitor timeliness of deliveries with desired fill-rates.
• Tracking new launches.
• Margin Negotation
• Plan In-store Promotions & Consumer Offers.
• Working closely with visual display staff and department heads to decide how product should be displayed to maximise customer interest and sales.
• Category Sales forecasting
• Analyse the effectiveness of promotions in achieving the targeted levels of sales and margins.
• Ensure category performance is monitored against plan
• Analysing every aspect of bestsellers (for example, the bestselling price points, colours or styles), and ensuring the bestsellers reach their full potential.
• Monitoring slow sellers, and taking action to reduce prices or set promotions as necessary.
