Job Profile: Appointed Person Lifting Operations
Experienced in setting up a Safe System of Work for tower cranes,
crawler cranes and mobile cranes.
• Able to assess the lifting operations to provide such planning,
selection of cranes, lifting accessories and equipment, instruction
and supervision as is necessary for the task to be undertaken safely.
• Ensure that adequate inspection/examination and maintenance of the
equipment have been carried out prior to its use.
• Establish an effective procedure for reporting defects and incidents
and taking necessary corrective action.
• Good leadership qualities and communication skills at all levels.

A Construction Professional with extensive crane experience in large-scale
Power Station construction, commercial projects (universities, hospitals,
etc.), Multi-unit and Mixed-use housing; providing management oversight
for all phases of the construction project lifting operations, including
coordinating workers, materials and equipment; and ensuring that
specifications are being followed and work proceeds on schedule.
Intimate knowledge of LOLER & BS 7121 safety guidelines and
regulations for Construction Lifting Operations.
• Ability to solve problems or complications
• Proven track record of performance and safety in the Lifting
Operations environment.
• Attending safety meetings with positive input and suggestions.
• Many years’ experience of multi-crane construction projects of ever
increasing complexity
• Tools box meeting, materials arrangements, man power distribution
& equipment’s arrangements
• Selection of Crane for each lift with proper safety factor
• Study the locations before lifting & prepare lifting study/method of
statement, plan and lifting details in standard format
• Explaining the risk in working area and in the work
• Lifting & lowering inside the excavation of all types of T.B.M.’s
(Tunnel Boring Machine) in Doha Metro Project’s.
• Lifting hazard identification and control.
• Top End lifts and Tandem lifts in all types of structures
• Ensure competent persons for lifting & slinging activities
• Selecting a competent person to do daily inspection of cranes and
lifting equipment’s
• Provide safety advice and guidance to line management.
