• Maximizing the available resources (manpower and machineries).
• Minimizing Delays.
• Improve yield.
• Minimize cobble (miss roll).
• Making of daily production report in SAP.
• Checking for the availability of spare guides during the shift.
• Responsible for entire shift activities Viz. Planning, production and quality of the finished product.
• Keeping the track of production as per planning and distributing the responsibility to subordinates accordingly in order to avoid production delay.
• Timely execution of production orders without any delay in the respective shift and preparation of production report.
• Co-ordination with mechanical, electrical and roll shop counterpart for improving the health of the equipment.
• Analyzing various defects in rolled product and suggesting the short term corrective action for improving quality.
• Filling the checklist for mill stands and guide.
• Optimization of crop end and cut length to improve yield during the shift.
• Responsible for checking pinch roll gauging and thermo processing (TMT) setting during size change.
• Checking the correct dimensions of the rolled product and stock.
• Responsible for checking the gap on the cooling bed after heat change and also informing to the cold shear and bundling pulpit.
• Checking for correct tying on the bundles tying no.of tying’s depend upon customer demands or as per standards.
• Responsible for separating the prime, scrap and hold bundles.
• Generating Bundle Bank Report.
• Looking after cooling bed, bundle area and its operation features.
• Suggesting the modification if required, for smooth rolling operation.
• Computer application in keeping records, preparing reports, format, documents, Control plan, work instruction required for ISO, IMS, SASO AUDIT.
