I was assigned by the CEO of Gharibwal Cement Limited, who is also a Director at Art Vision (Pvt.) Ltd., to assist in enhancing the financial management systems of the company. Art Vision (Pvt.) Ltd. operates in the cinema and real estate rental business.
I worked closely with the finance manager to:
• Prepare an accounting manual to standardize financial procedures.
• Develop management reporting formats, including profit & loss statements, cash flow reports, and bank position reports.
• Design and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the purchase department.
• Conduct costing analysis of cinema floor eateries to support pricing strategies.
• Develop analytical reports on movie occupancy status, revenue generation from movies, and profitability of cinema floor eateries.
• Successfully completed a year-long engagement, delivering improved financial and operational reporting frameworks.
Current Role
• Responsible for reviewing and approving distributors payments, vendor payments & tax payments ensuring adherence to financial policies and controls.

Heading internal audit department of a leading cement manufacturing company in Pakistan, operating under the brand name of Paidar Cement. My key accomplishments and responsibilities included:
• Establishment of internal audit function to improve and enhance governance process across the company.
• Develop an internal audit plan that that includes management concerns and obtaining approval from audit committee of the same.
• Implementation of the approved audit plan and issue periodic audit reports to the audit committee.
• Timely reporting to audit committee for significant non compliances, control deficiencies and significant risks.
• Review of transactions and operations and ensure compliance with corporate and tax laws and regulations issued by SECP and other oversight regulatory bodies.
• Acting as secretary to audit committee and preparing agenda, notices, working papers and minutes of audit committee meetings.
• Conducting special assignments on the advice of the audit committee.
• Acting as advisor to the board for the matters relating to risk management, process improvement, audit & compliance.
• Hire and maintain professional audit staff with sufficient knowledge, skills and experience.

I was appointed as Deputy Manager and promoted to Senior Deputy Manager Finance & Taxation during this period.
My key accomplishments and responsibilities included:
• Managed the companys tax affairs, including the preparation and filing of monthly sales tax and withholding tax returns, as well as annual income tax returns.
• Corresponded with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and responded to notices, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
• Led income tax audits and assessments conducted by FBR, and handled sales tax audits to ensure accurate reporting.
• Represented the company before the Commissioner Inland Revenue, Commissioner Appeals, and Tribunals in various income tax and sales tax disputes.
• Oversaw accounts payable function, managing vendor payments, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and ensuring timely and accurate disbursements.
• Prepared and analyzed accounts payable aging reports, optimizing cash flow and maintaining financial accuracy.
• Worked closely with the purchase department to align payments with budgetary constraints and enhance cash flow management.
• Implemented tax strategies and process improvements to enhance compliance and operational efficiency across tax and accounts payable functions.

Completed the mandatory training period of 3.5 years (as specified by Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan) with Ernst & Young Pakistan which is one of the Big 4 firms globally providing Audit, Tax and Advisory service.
As an Audit Senior, I was responsible for managing audit teams and overseeing the preparation of audited accounts, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial statements. I gained extensive experience in auditing a diverse range of sectors, including manufacturing, service organizations, FMCG, and banking organizations.
