Yacht Captain at M/Y Zeus of Douglas
  • France
  • December 2018 to January 2019

I took charge of Zeus over in Athens, Greece and was to make my way down to Antibes, in France. The passage itself took 2 weeks due to mechanical issues. Once I’d finally arrived at my destination, I was greeted by the guests for a 2 week trip. In that time, we moved up to St Tropez and was mostly spent anchored during the day and heading into ports at night. As it was only myself on board, I had to learn how to park the vessel with the only assistance from the line handlers on the dock. This meant throwing my own lines which keeping the vessel in the correct position. Once the two week trip was over, I made my way over to Sardinia to meet up with M/Y Magna Gracia and chased them for the next 2 and a half months. I was responsible for all accounting work and documents on board.

at M/Y White Knight (JLS Yacht and Charter)
  • July 2016 to April 2017

Staying with the company, I was placed on board M/Y White Knight based in Abu Dhabi. The yacht itself needed a large amount of work to be done, so I was kept busy. We spent 3 months in a ship yard, where we had our 5-year service completed. Whilst that was underway, I had the responsibility to track of all of the work which was ongoing. Sanding down and varnishing the capping rails was of the biggest jobs to be completed on deck, as well as completing all the inventories for the yacht. Whilst onboard, I maintained the same responsibilities as I did on M/Y Fast & Furious.

at M/Y New Sunrise CRN, 61
  • June 2015 to September 2015

Seasonal) Deckhand
New Sunrise was the first vessel I worked on which required the tender to be towed. I was quick to learn the procedure and eventually lead the setup, along with the other Deckhands. I was also a major part in the trips to shore with the guests, getting to grips with the 12m SACS tender. Other than driving guests to shore, I would always be involved in the water sports, where it was swimming around and keeping the children safe or if where it was towing the guests on Doughnuts, Chariots and other water toys.
