•Managing NSWMP where the programme is being implemented jointly with the KfW Development Bank, in cooperation with the European Commission (EU), Swiss Cooperation and GIZ. It is working to establish the structures required at national level and - in addition to the contributions provided within the framework of financial cooperation - supporting the construction of waste infrastructure in selected areas in four governorates.
•Providing technical advice to the Minister of her portfolio and parliamentary responsibilities that is consistent with the objectives of the government program.
•Developing appropriate relationships with interest group parties in order to facilitate progress of policy and legislation within the Minister's portfolio responsibilities.
•The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Provide technical and strategic advisory support to the Minister to undertake its strategic, regulatory and policy making roles furthering the modernization of environmental policy and management in Egypt;
•Provide advice on institutional development of the Ministry aimed at better implementation of competencies in the environment field;
•Provide advice on development, effective implementation and legal enforcement of the Egyptian legislation on environment;
•Provide support to the Ministry to undertake the annual revision of the Environmental reform Strategy and in ensuring its implementation;
•Provide advice on the indicators, sustainability, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), air quality, water quality management, waste management and industrial development.
•Assist the Ministry with the continued development of a National Environmental Strategy and Action Plan for Egypt;
•Assist the Minister with the implementation of the Strategic Development Program of the Ministry of Environment (2018 - 2022);
•Development of strategies for investments in the field of environment, in particular in the water sector and waste management sector in cooperation with the relevant technical assistance projects in these areas;
•Provide advice on environment policy implementation, including implementation of recommendations conditionalities of donors.
•Assist the Ministry in ensuring integration of environmental considerations in other sector policies, such as energy, transport, agriculture, etc.

•Legalizing the charcoal industry and introducing new technology to the market. The existing old technologies shall be replaced by new technologies and go through Compliance Action Plan (CAP). The new projects shall have new Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and procure new technologies through soft loans.
•Won $5 Million World Bank Pollution Management and Environmental Health Program (PMEH) support to Egypt.
