Is responsible for assisting Deputy Director with planning for in-service training.
Is responsible for checking that exams conform to standards and are error free.
Is interested in all aspects of external exams even though responsibility for this portfolio has been delegated elsewhere.
Carries out spot checks - ask to check class copybooks of students on occasion to satisfy yourself that standards are being met.
Prepares for the Deputy Director, upon request, predictions for book requirements and all other matters pertaining to his/ her section for the following year.

Student Counselor experience with training to work in school settings with students, parents, educators and others within the community

Experience in school planning, school programs, and school environmental enrichment with classroom experience that makes school counselor more valuable resources to teachers, and a better link to what is happening in the school system

OTHER TASKS
. Meets with the Deputy Director on a daily basis in informal settings to discuss any matters that need a policy decision or clarification. Also informs the Deputy Director of any new developments within his/ her area of responsibility.
. Attends classes on a regular basis to ensure that proper teaching is taking place. Evaluates teachers for contract renewal, as well as to provide guidance for enhanced performance. To help those who need help.
. Is willing to be part of a team that works together and helps each other in the many different tasks that occur during the year.
. Trains teachers and assists the Deputy Director in inducting them into the school. Makes them aware of required school standards. Runs parts of the In-Service training days as required by the Deputy Director.
. Solves everyday problems in situ
. Organizes and presents Open Days or Open Forums on aspects of education that it is felt the school needs to explain to the parent body.
