General Ledger Unit:
• Preparing detailed monthly, quarterly and yearly reconciliation reports by GL account
• Preparing reconciliation reports for intergovernmental accounts
• Performing on going account rectifications on Trial balance accounts
• Performing deep reviews of old accounts and account reallocating
• Tracking data cleaning process of accounts
• Performing balance sheet reviews and rectification
• Communicating with the respective units on queries regarding amounts that enter the accounts

• Assist all finance units in monthly closing process and escalate issues to management
• Perform daily account analysis
• Adopting current closing processes of multiple finance units, reviewing, updating and automating the process where possible before handing it back to the respective unit.
• Developed a booklet for the closing process, inclusive of all the steps and required documents from each financial unit and department. This book was the first of its kind in the Finance department.
• Hend handled monthly closing of Inventory closing, provided the team with a method to reduce closing period from 14 days to 3 days.
• Hend worked in Accounts Payable unit and was transferred to a more challenging role in General Ledger, until she was transferred again to a more challenging role in Account Receivable unit.
Accounts Receivable Unit:
• Performing monthly intergovernmental billing on revenue accounts and following up with the respective government entities.
• Performing reconciliation of revenue accounts between Dubai Health Authority and Department of Finance related to E-pay system. Ensuring all mismatches and disputes are rectified and resolved.
• Quarterly intergovernmental reconciliation of insurance billing
• Supporting Revenue Section Head in Ad-hoc requests
• Assisting Revenue Section Claims unit patient account clearing
• Handling donations to patients accounts
• Managing quotations of events and supporting Events department in ad-hoc requests
• Cross checking refund applications and performing refunds in Medical Fitness system and Sheryan licensing system. Supporting the Health Regulation department in transition between old and new Sheryan licensing system in terms of refund applications clearing.
• Perform monthly billing of government employees holding insurance cards and following up with the respective government entities
• Performing monthly billing of local patients to Department of Finance
• Performing monthly billing of all healthcare accounts to Department of Finance
• Performing monthly billing of medical supplies to Dubai Police
• Assisting in billing of Armed forces medical services
• Overviewing a visible accounting system of cash flow
• Developing a pricing methodology and pricing packages for clients
• Creating invoices
• Quality control of all media products and verifying that they meet the standards of Creative Yas and the clients’
• Meeting with the audit team on a weekly basis to review all transactions and ensure proper recording of accounts, receipts and required documents.
• Acting manager on request, from running day to day tasks to meeting clients
• Refurbishing the office to bring an environment that supports creative flow and setting a good vibe. The result was a creative, welcoming feel to the office. Positive feedback was received and longer periods of staying in the office was reported.
• Meeting one-on-one with the employees to understand the current situation and their input for a better work efficiency and remodeling the work structure

• Hend’s experience in the role of Finance Productivity Analyst revolves around monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting to stakeholders. Hend created error proof auto-generated reports, enabled by advances Excel skills, used by stakeholders in Asia Pacific, China, India and Middle-East Africa to drive the agenda of working Faster, Stronger and Better Together.
• To develop in the people aspect of the job, Hend has led two Great Place to Work initiatives, whereby she had to drive the Healthy Living agenda and to make the work environment more lively and enjoyable.
• Training new hires, who come from abroad, as part of their on-boarding program by educating them about living in Dubai and the culture of the UAE.
• Hend’s experience as a Finance Graduate Trainee consisted of working with Senior Directors, Senior Analysts and Senior Managers in sub functions of the Finance department. These functions are Planning, Global Procurement, Productivity and Internal Control.
• Hend was given a major task by the VP of Finance which is an initiative to facilitate restructuring for the Planning function to drive the implementation streamlining initiative. Hend documented and analyzed every unit and every employee’s job in the Finance department, created flow charts for each output (both unit specific and cross unit) analyzed the tasks, identified areas of double work and non-value added work. Findings were presented.
• Hend directly reported to the New York headquarters office monthly on Global Nutrition & Grains.
• Hend’s experience as an intern consisted of extracting and analyzing key macroeconomic data, market share of brand categories, analyzing key drivers in benchmarking sales and distribution and volume performance.
