I work at Customs Information Center in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretariat General site.

* Main Projects:
** Customs Duty Clearing System: (Visual Studio .Net & Crystal Reports)
I play both lead systems analyst and project manager roles in this project. As a project manager, I oversee all the required IT infrastructure (network, hardware and software) activities required to establish Customs Information Center. The project has a budget of about 8.4 Millions USD. As a lead analyst, I am responsible for the analysis, design and implementation of Customs Duty Clearing “Maqasa” system, which handles all customs duty clearing operations for exchanged goods between GCC countries. On average, the system deals with goods value of 9.7 Billion USD annually.
*** My Role:
- Carrying out project management responsibilities
- Monitoring project progress using Microsoft Project
- Coordinating company and vendors resources according to client schedule
- Reporting project progress to company management and client stakeholders
- Interviewing candidates for job openings
- Gathering and modeling user’s business requirements
- Analyzing the workflow and the use case scenarios of the process
- Leading, managing and supporting senior developers
- Planning and implementing software testing plans and procedures
- Providing technical support and guidance for systems development lifecycle

Senior Analyst Developer at Saudi Customs, Ministry of Finance

I worked at Application Development Department in Saudi Customs site under the sponsorship of two companies: Jeraisy Computer & Comm. Services (from 5/1999 till 8/2000) and Al-Khaleej Computers & Electronic Systems (from 8/2000 till 4/2008).

* Main Projects:
** NIBRAS System: (Oracle Designer & Developer suite)
Analysis, design and implementation of “NIBRAS” system, the Saudi Customs Applications suite, that handles all customs workflow and business rules including: Customs Import Statement, Revenues, Shipment, Importers, Tariff …etc. The system runs in more than 30 ports and provides the required information to decision makers in Custom HQ.
*** My Role:
- Responsible for the main systems (Revenues, Insurance, Import Statement and Export Statement)
- Giving consultancy to other analysts about their systems
- Leading, managing and supporting senior developers
- Providing technical support and guidance for systems development lifecycle
- Prioritizing and tracking upgrade requests and controlling systems releases
- Gathering and modeling user’s business requirements
- Planning and implementing software testing plans and procedures
- Designing the framework of NIBRAS system
- Interviewing candidates for analyst and developer job openings

** Automatic Gate Clearance Project: (Oracle Designer & Developer suite)
I played the role of Customs' technical key-person in the project. The project was about integrating a camera-based image recognition system, provided by a third party, into NIBRAS system to clear goods' containers automatically from Customs' gates.

- Analyzing the workflow and the use case scenarios of the process
- Designing and implementing changes in NIBRAS system to interact with the camera system
- Planning and executing testing procedures
- Deploying and monitoring the system to ensure its efficiency

** SADAD Integration Project:
The project aims to tune NIBRAS system to integrate with SADAD. SADAD is an initiative powered by SAMA (Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority). Complying with SADAD standards means that Customs duties can be paid through all banking channels of the banks joining SADAD.
*** My Role:
- Data gathering and preparing the initial project plan
- Analyzing the required changes in NIBRAS system to integrate with SADAD
- Preparing the documents required by SADAD
- Implementing the changes in NIBRAS system
- Carrying out the test procedures

** e-Payment and POS Projects:
These projects aim to allow the payment of Customs duties through POS (point of sale) terminals and the internet. Several banks are involved in these projects (NCB, Riyad Bank and Rajhi Bank).
*** My Role:
- Documentation of Customs' standards and workflow to communicate with NIBRAS system
- Analyzing and evaluating technical proposals and solutions offered by the banks
- Preparing Integration and testing plans

** Encyclopedia of Islamic Jurisprudence “Gamee’ El-Fekh Al-Islami”: (Visual C++, MFC)
It is the outcome of fruitful cooperation between the Islamic Development Bank, the Kuwaiti General Secretariat of Awqaf and Harf Information Technology. The Encyclopedia of Islamic Jurisprudence is a timesaving tool that helps researchers to dedicate their time and effort to analyze and compare different juristic views, instead of wasting time searching for and collecting data sources. With a multi-million dollars budget, the Encyclopedia contains 100 books (500 volumes) of the most important books in the Islamic culture.
*** My Role:
- Provide technical support for application development
- Prioritizing and tracking modifications requests and controlling software releases
- Build parts of the user interface
- Link the search engine to the application
