Banking Support & Operations Management:
• Ensuring smooth disbursements to Suppliers through appropriate channel of payment such as Letter of Credit (L/C), Trust Receipt (TR), or Cash against Documents (CAD).
• Ensuring Export L/Cs received from Clients are conforming to the contractual obligations and approving the same for issuance.
• Preparation and analysis of the Fund Flow Projection Statement for the group of companies on a weekly basis. This consisted of forecasting the fund flow for the upcoming four weeks in order to ensure smooth operations of the business.
• Preparation and analysis reporting of Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payables on a weekly basis and following up with Business Development Executives for Receivables inflow.
Risk Mitigation and Management Reporting
• Responsible for management of Risk Mitigation which involved hedging metal price risk on London Metal Exchange (LME), liaising with LME brokers in the UK for futures and options.
• Ensuring that at month end, all contracts include physical as well as exchange profit and loss so as to arrive at accurate net figures and analyse the same for presentation to the management.
• Research and analysis of market trends on all base metals, primarily copper, lead and aluminium, also gold, silver, oil and currencies
• Monitoring financial growth/stability/group performance in line with the set targets, policies & procedures, budgets & identifying potential financial risk, reporting the same to senior management as well as overseeing Financial/ Treasury / Strategic analysis, management and Decision making processes.
Key achievements:
• Joined the company as Accounts Assistant and crafted an impressive growth curve to merit multiple promotions through exceptional performance.
• Ensured the achievement of target profit levels for the company through the successful utilisation of derivatives tools such as futures and options for hedging.
• Developed a comprehensive tool for internal control so as to ensure supplier payments are processed with complete checks from Supply Chain and Finance Department which is running efficiently.
• Introduced the use of 1 Metric Ton LME OTC Contracts in Belchina Group, which successfully eliminated the risk of over/under hedging of the physical requirements.
• Being the core member for the team responsible for the implementation of ERP. Lead the project for the selection of ConTrac ERP which is considered best fit for Belchina on the basis of Cost Benefit Analysis.
• Issuing Purchase orders, sales and purchase invoicing and data entry into Sage Line 500 System.
• Responsible for daily petty cash management and disbursement payments to suppliers and general and recording the same in the ERP system.
