At Mott MacDonald, I have played a key role in the design and assessment of major bridge and viaduct structures, with a particular focus on post-tensioned concrete and staged construction analysis. My work on the £500M HS2 Curzon Street Viaducts involved developing advanced MIDAS Civil models for a cast-in-situ, multi-cell box girder system — including staged construction, tendon profiling, and load redistribution across a 300 m alignment. I assessed the DLR Deptford Viaduct’s response to tunnelling-induced ground movement using nonlinear staged construction analysis. In Qatar, I delivered detailed design of multiple precast segmental ramp viaducts for the 56 km New Orbit Highway project, including tendon layouts, segment sequencing, and transverse shell modelling in LUSAS. My role combines high-end analysis and design with practical delivery, supporting complex rail and highway infrastructure projects across the UK and Middle East.

During my time at Capita Symonds, I contributed to a series of high-profile UK infrastructure projects involving bridges, tunnels, and viaducts. I performed Eurocode-compliant CAT 3 checks on post-tensioned and reinforced concrete structures, including the 30 m half-through NOS Underbridge and the 145 m curved DLR Viaduct, both part of the Crossrail C152 contract. I identified critical reinforcement deficiencies in the NOS Underbridge’s precast beams that would have caused cracking prior to prestressing. I also delivered design checks for the TBM reception headwall and deep retaining walls on the Victoria Dock Portal (C154). On the M25 Bell Common Tunnel scheme, I led the structural design of new portal extensions and developed a cost-saving strengthening solution for the central wall using external concrete layering. My role combined advanced modelling (LUSAS, WALLAP), structural assessment, and design coordination within multidisciplinary teams.
