DC build, migration and OS level administration for one of the largest retailer company.
Previous data center services consisted of a mostly homogeneous mix of Wintel and Linux systems running in a virtualized and physical server environment. Worked closely with the DC build and migration team by providing OS level administration in the process of moving away from the previous service provider by transitioning the services and migrating the infrastructure.
1. Actively handling VMware issues reported by customers and other teams. Conducting knowledge transfer sessions with the previous infrastructure provider of the client and document the details to get the KT signoff.
2. Server build using VMWare virtualization. Deploying VMs for different teams as per requirement and configuring them.
3. Professional working experience on HP servers ProLiant, Dell Power edge, Cisco UCS B420 M3 Blade Servers.
4. Configuring servers to use centralized AD domain. Centrify administration.
6. Experience in Netbackup backup issue troubleshooting and knowledge of VNX and XIO storage. Knowledge on Storage Components like NAS, SAN storages, HBA, LUN.
7. Resolving migration issues by working together with different vendor and application teams.
8. Working collaboratively with application and database teams to address Linux issues.
9. Handling of Service requests, created by customers. Assisting them on their queries.
10. Assisting customers during server issues by being on call/webex. Giving step by step
guidance till the server is live again. Performing RCA analysis.
11. Documenting new issues and possible solutions or workaround and updating the knowledge base, which helps the customers/support engineers to save their time instead of doing research on the issues. There by helping support group in delivering the quality of support.

Responsibilities:
• Respond to and resolve customer support requests.
• Communicate with client daily and sends reports of the works and tasks done.
• Suggests proactive suggestions to client to improve the service offered by the company to the end customers.
• Manage Linux and Windows based VPSs, shared servers, dedicated servers and cloud VMs.
• Configuring the Backup of the server and its restoration and daily maintenance.
• Configuring and monitoring of server health using Nagios monitoring system.
• Installation of third party application (wordpress, phpbb, ) and optimizing them.
• Respond to and resolve security issues such as threats, attacks and breaches.
• Manage DNS.
• Handling Mail issues.
• Manage, configure, and optimize Apache, PHP, MySQL, MSSQL, MAILENABLE, IIS.
Ensure the service availability of the server infrastructure as per the agreed SLA
