I have been involved in the ICT team at Western House Primary School where I supported Key Stage one with developing the learning platform Study Wiz. I provided training within school along with training staff members on using digital cameras and computers. More recently I have been involved in analysing assessment information and providing feedback to the Head and Deputy regarding children’s achievements.

I spent one year working as part of a large 4 form entry school, as a maternity cover teacher. I helped the year 2 team produce good results at the end of Key stage 1 SAT’s. I was involved in assessing children half termly and providing challenging targets.

I worked towards providing a friendly but challenging learning environment where I developed effective communication links with parents and carers on consultation evenings and at other times.

I also Implemented and adhered to the school and classroom behaviour policy. Along with working with a behavior support team.

I have attended synethic phonics training and worked with other members of staff to develop their understanding of phonics, mainly the Ruth Miskins Read Write Inc scheme of work.

I had joint class responsibility with the class teacher, where I was involved heavily in monitoring and assessing childrens’ progress and working towards developing sustainable relationships with children and parents.

My training consisted of one term in Key Stage 1, mainly in Year 2, one term in Key Stage 2 Year 5, teaching all subjects across both Key Stages. Here I built strong relationships with all children, promoting the concept of expert learning.

This was the GTP scheme which allowed graduates to train as teachers. It was a scheme based within school from day one with teaching repsonsibilities of up to 80% of the weekly timetable. I had all the responisibilities a class teacher would have had.
