Therapeutic:
- working under the Respiratory Therapy Department.
- Respond to Codes and assist in airway management.
- Patient transport and set up ventilatiors
- Set up and monitor BiPAP and CPAP
- Perform assessments for therapist driven protocol
- Administer Aerosol therapy and nebulizer treatments
- Administer medical gas therapy
- Perform all bronchial hygiene modalities (cough mechanism, postural drainage, chest-physiotherapy).
- Give instructions and assistance in performing lung recruitment exercises (incentive spirometry, breathing execrcise)
- Perform oral and nasopharyngeal tube insertion.
- Patient-Education
- Ventilator management
- Provide recommendations regarding ventilators, BiPAPs and treatment changes.
DIAGNOSTIC:
- perform and analyze Arterial/Capillary Blood Gas
- Perform sputum collections for culture and sensitivity
- Perform Pulmonary function testing and Asthma Education and Allergy Testing
- Perform bedside monitoring for critically ill patients with the use of oxygen analyzers, oximeters, volume-collecting and flow sensing devices and pressure measuring devices.
