- Prepare and maintain commission records of site observations, testing processes and checklists, in order to accept the Pre-commissioning of all units according to project specifications.
- Follow the Pre-commissioning Schedule and Plans in accordance with project guidelines and Mechanical Completion priorities.
- Mechanical Completion checking and testing of equipment together with Quality Control and Construction, to confirm that the installation is in accordance with drawings and specifications and ready for Commissioning in a safe manner and in compliance with project requirements.
- Compile the Punch List items register, listing of all the punch list items received during the Walkthroughs, either from Company or Client representatives, describing incomplete works or malfunction of equipment or construction execution defects. Follow-up till the resolution by the Construction disciplines and Procurement of all the Punch List items received, assigning them category and priority, and discussing acceptance with the management of the Client.
Directly supervises the activities of the dry coating production line operators, working closely with the Cold End and Hot End Supervisors to minimize losses; analyzing defect problems; inspecting and analyzing raw batch materials to ensure conformance with specifications; insuring accurate weighing, mixing and delivery of batch material to the melting furnace; overseeing the melting of dry batch and refining the molten glass; controlling the flow of glass through the tin bath, monitoring the molten tin, the atmosphere and the casing temperature; changing glass thickness and width as required by production; assuring that glass is annealed to specifications; having equipment available to handle any upset condition; assuring that plant rules are consistently enforced; training employees in safety; completing and updating personnel records; counseling employees with work performance problems; completing shift reports, conducting employee meetings, appraising employees on work performance; conducting employment interviews for the crew, responsible of the production line and processing the materials, coater line setup, dry coating, sampling and quality control.
