• Build the annual Business Plan based on detailed analysis of previous and forecasted business performances
• Prepare, analyze, challenge and consolidate long term, annual and rolling budgets and forecasts. Identify areas of budget concern and potential impact on projected financials
• Conducting company valuations for potential mergers & acquisitions
• Developing and updating financial, accounting and management policies and procedures, review company bottlenecks and suggesting process improvements
• Preparing, monitoring & interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends
• Maintaining optimal working capital and ensuring optimum utilization of capital assets
• Determining strategies for profit distribution, investment & financing
• Developing financial mechanism and controls to reduce Financial Risks
• Support operations team in order to achieve overall organization objectives including sales and profit maximization
• Prepare consolidated financial statements comprising of 8 entities
• Ensure timely completion of audit, solving audit queries and liaison with auditors
• Manage payroll and other HR and Administrative functions
• Ensuring profit maximization by tackling pricing and discount issues, accurate product costing and through expense control
• Oversee quarterly filing of Value Added Tax (VAT)
• Oversee monthly MIS, reconciliation statements & statutory reports, and evaluate them for facilitating decision making
• Evaluate financial reports and recommend modifications to operations, budgets and other financial matters
• Review Internal Controls and ensue adherence to the same
• Manage Finance Team of 12 for Kuwait, Qatar & Bahrain
• Carry out financial feasibility analysis for investment proposals, and conducting risk and sensitivity analysis through financial model
• Conduct cost benefit analysis of introducing new brands and analysis of its impact on the entire business
• Ensuring timely finalization of accounts, oversee general accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivables, account reconciliations, cash management, analyzing ledger accounts and accruals
• Ensuring proper documentation and review of customer agreements, vendor contracts and other documents related to budgets, revenues and expenses
• Ensuring that the books of accounts are kept as per IFRS
• Review, modify and document all accounting processes and procedures ensuring compliance with company guidelines
• Determine KPIs and prepare management reports for brand-wise profitability analysis, financial statement analysis, compliance with bank covenants and budget variances
• Present a true and fair view of the financial position of the company by way of timely preparation of annual reports, ensuring analyzing the expenditure on a monthly basis to control expenses
• Provide additional ad-hoc analysis and reports as requested by management
• Verifying banks financial position and ensuring facility limits are maintained
• Co-ordinate with accounts receivables, accounts payables and projects departments for forecasting cash flows
• Formulate policies determining terms & conditions for letter of credit inwards and verify the terms & conditions prior approval
• Verify documents prepared by accounts receivable section to be sent to the bank for negotiation and ensure prompt realization of money
• Verifying and approving international and local payments
• Determine and maintain optimum liquidity for the company and arrange finance
• Determine foreign currency requirements and make payments based on exchange rates and forecasted cash flows
• Provide guidance in audit activities (internal & external) including setting up audit systems, monitoring implementation of systems and providing feedback to the top management with regular audit reports
• Evaluate the effectiveness and completeness of controls through basic audit programs, and make recommendations to counter flaws in the control system
• Identify and communicate accounting and audit matters along with recommending performance improvement opportunities with Top Management
• Produce audit work papers and documentation for checking and approval by superiors along with reviewing complex financial data ensuring its integrity stands up to scrutiny
• Conduct special audit assignments as may be required and define audit cycles
• Ensure compliance with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Auditing
