1. Financial Recordkeeping

Maintain and update general ledger accounts.

Record daily financial transactions accurately and on time.

Reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank statements.

Ensure all journal entries are supported with proper documentation.

2. Financial Reporting

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Assist in creating balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Ensure reports comply with local accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or GAAP).

Provide analysis and explanations for variances between actual and budgeted figures.

3. Budgeting & Forecasting

Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts.

Monitor budget performance and report on deviations.

Support management in financial planning and cost control.

4. Taxation & Compliance

Prepare and file VAT, withholding tax, and other statutory returns.

Ensure compliance with local tax laws and accounting regulations.

Liaise with auditors and tax authorities as needed.

5. Internal Controls

Maintain and improve accounting systems and procedures.

Ensure financial records are secure and properly backed up.

Support the implementation of internal control policies to prevent errors and fraud.

6. Audit Support

Prepare audit schedules and provide necessary documentation.

Respond to external and internal auditor queries.

Implement audit recommendations.

7. Payroll & Expense Management (if applicable)

Process payroll and ensure compliance with labor laws.

Monitor employee reimbursements and petty cash transactions.

8. Cross-Functional Support

Coordinate with procurement, HR, and operations for financial data and approvals.

Support management with financial analysis and decision-making reports.
