The main duties include management and administration of the company (assets and personnel); supervision of staff and consultant; budgeting and business planning; training and consultancy services in GIS, Remote Sensing, GPS, Location Based-Services, Spatial data infrastructure.
1. Coordinate all enterprise GIS and Remote Sensing operations including geodatabase management and geo data development, System administration and technical consulting.
2. Compile geographic data from a variety of sources including censuses, field data collection, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.
3. Responsible Design all survey forms for geo-data/information.
4. Responsible data collection gathering, storage geographical Referenced Information including social facility (education, health, water etc.).
5. Responsible create and prepare census enumeration area maps and codes.
6. Develop and Manage Geodatabase and standardized Metadata.
7. Create high Quality analytical maps, models and other graphical outputs with geographical information (textual, tabular, graphs, charts and maps) for planning and decision making.
8. Carry out geodata analysis by integrating and analyzing all statistical, thematic and topographical data to produce information.
9. Prepare spatial analysis, geostatistical analysis and 3D analysis for modeling, prediction and visualization of defferent scenarios.
10. Responsible preparation and presentation of periodic Geomatics section reports
11. Provide technical support for other Central Statistics Department (CSD) sections to assist having maps and models.
12. Provide technical support and transfer knowledge in GIS, database management and remote sensing skills to CSD sections.
Support maps designing and Analysis Spatial data of various FAO projects:
-Crops Pest and Disease surveillance mapping for the agriculture sector.
-Water sources surveying and Mapping, Odweyne and Burao districts in Somaliland.
- Water resource Desk assessment to generate maps and updated SWALIM platform-web application for water source information.
- Creation of maps for selected Enumeration Areas for perception survey in all Somaliland regions.
- Development air-distant calculation for construction of schedule maps for field work planning.
- Performance of spatial analysis and statistics and geospatial data integration.
- Training enumerator and supervisors on how to use GPS in different purpose include taking GPS points, GPS tracking & navigation and map reading for EA Maps.
- Analyzing water systems to identify opportunities for water resource improvements.
- Conducting technical studies for water resources on topics such as pollutants and water treatment options.
- Provided field assessment and distribution of natural water bodies in Urban and Rural
- Compiling water resource data, using geographic information systems (GIS) or global position systems (GPS) software
- Developing water source thematic maps to present assessed water spatial data including Barkad, dams, shallow well, streams and dry rivers.
-Monitor water use, demand, or quality in a particular geographical study area.
- Compiling and maintain documentation on the health of a body of water.
- Performed hydrologic, hydraulic, or water quality modeling with reports
- Performing hydrological analysis of all catchments for planning purpose including rainfall modelling, erosion/sedimentation processes and water walkability studies
- Supervising teams of workers who capture water from wells and rivers.
Provide two courses for Faculty of Geology and Water Resources. in addition, provide support and consultation to GIS Center of Gollis University
gained valuable course including; Mechanical Material Building Construction, Drawing and Designing etc.
