RF Circuit Design and Performance testing for new Motorola smartphones.
• RF testing for WLAN 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (802.11xx), Bluetooth and BLE using Qualcomm Sequence Profiling Resource (QSPR)and Litepoint IQexel, Anritsu MT8870A, R&S CMW500 for new and existing Panasonic Automotive infotainment systems
• Evaluating, analyzing and attempting to improve Bluetooth and WLAN parametric results such as EVM, TX Power, Frequency Errors, RX Sensitivity etc. by calibration, hardware and software changes using Qualcomm software tools
• WiFi and Bluetooth Field Testing using iperf to analyze performance (throughput and RSSI) of infotainment systems
• AM/FM/DAB tuner design for various automotive infotainment systems
• AM/FM/HD Reception rides and bench testing using Audio Precision (APx500) analyzer for radio performance evaluation
• Sirius XM TA-2 testing for new and existing automotive infotainment systems’ XM modules
• Using Zuken Design Editor to update and review Electrical Engineering schematics and layouts for various projects
• Supporting other teams (factory, validation) in testing and evaluation of products and prototypes

- WiFi field testing using iperf to evaluate performance (RSSI and throughput) for different antenna locations inside vehicle
- WLAN and Bluetooth bench testing using Litepoint IQexel-80 tester and Qualcomm QSPR
- Bluetooth testing using Rohde & Schwarz CMW500 tester

- Wrote VB code to compile and plot testing results
• Planning new cellular sites in the network by identifying low/no coverage areas and monitoring cellular statistics
• Running RF coverage simulations and analyzing the simulations to propose improvements in the wireless network
• Conducting Field Surveys for BTS sites and generating their RF & antenna design reports
• IBS and DAS Planning and Design
• Radio Frequency Planning and Neighbor Planning for the wireless network (new and existing BTS sites)
• Analyzing cellular statistics to identify problematic cells and plan capacity expansions and RF parametric tuning accordingly
• Overall Management: Supervising a team of 6 outsourced employees for field activities and reports, and coordination with implementation teams to ensure timely integration of new sites in the network
• Monitoring and troubleshooting the entire network of Telenor Pakistan by working in 12-hour shifts in 24/7 cycle
• Escalation to Field Operations, top management and Customer Complaints Division regarding network outages and ensuring their timely resolution within the defined SLAs
• Trouble Ticketing using HP Service Manager
• Identifying root cause of network outages and generating their fault reports
• Hands on experience on NEC PNMSj (for microwave radio), Huawei U2000/T2000 (for SDH and DWDM), Siemens TNMS (for SDH), CA Spectrum (for IP/MPLS systems), NSN Netviewer, HP-OVO (for monitoring Enterprise Services) and ZTE U31 Netnumen.
4 - Week Internship in the Radio Networks Engineering Department
- Responsible for generating drive-test reports using the provided log-files on software (TEMS and MapInfo), and submitting to the customer.
- Conducted a study of GSM and various other technical training manuals.
- Compiled a tutorial on ‘Generating drive test report using TEMS and MapInfo’ for future interns to come.
6 - Week internship during which I conducted various programming-related tasks and was expected to show familiarity particularly with object oriented programming.
4 - Week internship in the Zonal Isolation Department, Cementing Laboratory.
