Part of the site technical support team providing the civil engineering input. Projects supervised include new capex works as well as the civil opex maintenance. Heavy machine foundations, pipeline issues, pits, drains, earthworks, remote camp accommodation and infrastructure, well head pads, flow lines, burn pits, evaporation ponds, roads, pipe support modifications, camp sewage and water treatment. Competencies include preparation of initial budgets, scope of works, specifications and QC documentation. Provide design, tender and constructability review. Conduct activity JSA’s, Implement and monitor safety and QA/QC programs. Provide technical support to contractors. Supervise contractor works. Mentor to local staff.
Remit to audit a specific project to advise management on options to achieve project milestones. Review and suggest recovery actions to prevent or limit exposure to all liabilities. Review manpower and equipment resources, contract conditions, site documentation, market supply etc. Project was a power distribution substation complex.
Responsible for a department of 14 staff. Maintain company assets related to the off plots utilities, camp facility and associated infrastructure. Advise central office on construction issues, alternatives. Supervise runway repairs, boiler house installation, sewerage lagoon rebuild, Warehouse modifications and gas supply line repairs. Develop new projects to enhance existing facilities. Manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets. Develop maintenance schedules with maintenance contractors. Audit subcontractor’s facilities and initiate total quality awareness. Implement safety regime. Review and acceptance of completed projects.
Responsible for the supervision of all civil and building works. Initially supervised the construction of the temporary camp facilities. Advise and influence site safety practices, work methods and quality levels relating to all the construction. This included the camp infrastructure, temporary works facilities and permanent plant facilities. Directly responsible for safety, earthworks, road construction, piling and foundation works, structural steel erection, cladding and building construction. Review and monitor work schedules, work procedures, risk assessments, activity method statements etc Witness and approve site concrete batch plant and concrete mix designs. Prepare daily reports, review technical queries, review valuations and monitor day work activities. Work location is in extreme artic conditions, thus using cold weather work techniques
Responsible for the supervision of contractors providing construction services to the offshore operation. Supervise Quarry activities including blasting, material testing and traffic management. Construct jetty facility including sheet piling and rock fill. Issue subcontracts for local service orders including road repairs, infrastructure projects and community projects Oversee the loading of barges including load calibration. Participate in weekly HS&E meetings, insuring all contractor participation. Agip KCO are currently constructing offshore islands for the exploration and production of oil projects.
Representing Chevron on all project management issues, with key responsibilities including safety, construction, quality, and project management. Directly involved with the review of contractor submittals and queries, review technical issues from soil report, piling load tests and concrete test reports through to approval and review of material submittals. Monitor all site construction activities including curtain wall installation, partition installation, all interior finishes and fixtures. Vendor inspections of local fabrication facilities. Chair weekly project meetings on HSE, progress and quality. Preparation of reports including variations and schedule impacts.
Project consisted of a prestigious 8-storey concrete frame office complex with clinic, restaurant, and recreation buildings, plus a high class residential housing community with sports and welfare complex.
Responsible for the establishment of corporate and project QA systems. Generation of quality manual, project quality plan, method statements, ITP’s, check lists etc. Co-ordinate site activities for inspection and tests including site laboratory. Conduct audits of suppliers, subcontractors and site systems. Attend weekly quality meetings. Advise and prepare construction methodology statements. Advise on material submittals. Liaise with Main contractor and client. Implement quality awareness program. Review or proposal of construction methods and practices.
Project includes bulk earthworks, marine works, heavy concrete structures, structural steel fabrication & erection, drainage, roads and buildings including services and interconnections. Project is a Petrochemical plant.
Seconded to Ras Gas / Mobil joint venture. Responsible to monitor all civil construction activities on the construction of a new LNG plant. Review qa procedures, witness inspections, audit qa documentation, review material submittals and technical packages. Report direct to project management on NCR issues. Project included a new gas processing facility with jetty facilities, sea water intake and related infrastructure.
Audited company operations to assertain compatability for ISO accreditation. Responsible to prepare all project quality systems and documentation. including procedures, ITP's, checklists, method statements and audit plans. Implement within the company the quality systems, including department training. Company accredited to ISO9002
Responsible for the establishment and accreditation of the company to ISO 9002. I wrote the company quality manual, procedures, project plans, etc.
Trained the company in the successful implementation and use of the quality systems.
Seconded to Adnoc to audit a contractor for quality compliance.
Responsible for the implementation of all contractual requirements. This included the interpretation of contract drawings and specifications. Review and approval of material submittals. Resolution of technical queries. Monitor and report progress. Assessment of valuations and claims.
Responsible for the technical management of a heavy civil project. Duties included the preparation of work schedules, material procurement schedules, inspection plans, record data etc. Coordinate all discipline engineers for schedule, materials and progress. Responsible for acceptance of final finishes.
Responsible for the provision of site management duties to various clients. This would include all aspects from engineering dimension control, through to project planning and quality control.
Responsible for the technical execution of all projects. Duties included the investigation, analysis, repair and rehabilitation of concrete structures.
Internal Auditors course which references ISO 9000 series quality requirements
HND in Building is a full time three year course in Building. The course included a period of industrial training where 6 months of field work with a construction company is included. The subjects of the course included: Materials, project management, structures, architecture, surveying, contract law, plus science and maths subjects.
OND in Building is a full time course of two years that educates on all aspects of the Building Industry. Subjects studied include materials, surveying, structures, technical drawing, contract law, measurement management in addition to the normal maths and science subjects.
