Responsibilities
Fleet Management
• Contribute to the formulation of plans, policies and budgets aligned to overall operational plans of the company and coordinate efficient execution of plans and budgets.
• Administer the sectional budget, monitor and control spending ensuring optimum utilization of funds and adherence to approved budgets.
• Participate in initiatives to evaluate performance and implement programs to improve overall performance with enhanced profits and quality of services.
• Recommend/authorize capital expenditure for acquisition of new equipment or property to facilitate improvements in operational efficiency and service levels
• Collaborate with other departments and lead the departmental team ensuring achievement of all predefined site and customer objectives.
Fleet Operations
• Report to the Transportation & Replenishment Manager and supervise day-to-day operations of the company’s fleet of vehicles comprising of trucks, vans and cars ensuring efficient functioning of the fleet.
• Deal with all aspects including fleet operations, maintenance, vehicle financing, health & safety management and speed & fuel management.
• Coordinate and ensure implementation of preventive and routine maintenance programs to ensure health, availability and reliability of the fleet.
• Supervise day-to-day logistic support activities including planning, routing, dispatching and tracking of delivery vehicles in coordination with the sales and warehouse teams.
• Conduct regular inspections and checks of vehicles, identify potential issues and implement prompt corrective measures for smooth and safe operations.
• Investigate all accidents and incidents related to the fleet, identify root causes and implement required corrective and preventive action plans
Staff Management
• Serve as the first point of contact for the fleet’s drivers and manage, train, develop and motivate the team of drivers to improve productivity, service levels and safety of operations.
• Arrange induction and orientation as well as provide training to new employees.
• Conduct scheduled staff performance appraisals to identify training needs and implement development plans as well to initiate disciplinary action where required.

Operations Management
• Managed customer service including order management, shipping and deliveries of products and services of the Mars division.

• Conducted inspections using established engineering techniques and ensured consistent compliance of company processes and products with applicable standards and requirements.
• Monitored on time accurate capture of all quality data, analysed reports to identify variances and trends and recommended effective corrective and preventive actions
Performance Management
• Coordinated regular performance reviews against approved key performance indicators (KPI), identified opportunities for improvement and recommended appropriate action plans.
• Contributed to the analysis of key processes, development of process improvements and implementation of changes to achieve targeted performance enhancements
• Assisted in monitoring ongoing projects, evaluating progress against schedules and implementing measures to keep projects on schedule.
• Analysed each order and facilitated maximization of profitability by optimizing routing, maximizing efficiency and minimizing overall costs.
Customer Service
• Supported pre-sales and post-sales customer service activities through liaison with customers and sales representatives.
• Collaborated with sales, warehousing and logistics teams to deliver consistent high levels of customer service, resolve issues and achieve customer satisfaction.
• Managed customer relationships including responding to and providing prompt accurate answers to queries and requests, meeting customer priorities and resolving complaints.
