I am responsible for assisting beginner English language learners in reaching an intermediate level (approximately A2 to B1 proficiency on the CEFR).
I also teach on the Business diploma program on subjects such as marketing, finance, health & safety and insurance.
Teaching classes with 20-25 students for up to 25 hours per week, plus cover when required
Plan and prepare practical business lessons that meet learning goals and give students a richer experience.
Participate in curriculum development and planning with other Business Diploma Instructors and curriculum developers to integrate curricula and monitor student progress.
Other responsibilities include curriculum evaluation and development, invigilation, reporting/recording of grades, lesson preparation, take part in departmental meetings and professional development sessions.
I worked closely with experienced ESL teachers and taught students from diverse backgrounds
I taught students in pre-intermediate, intermediate and upper-intermediate ESL classes consisting of 8 - 14 students
Used materials from Face2Face, Cutting Edge, and English File and employed a variety of methods and lesson structures
Created activities tailored to the students’ needs based on analysis of their errors and learning styles
Fulfilling all reasonable duties as directed by the Head Teacher.
As a classroom teacher built a rapport with students and created a trusting atmosphere through sensitivity to students’ strengths, weaknesses, and personal learning style.
