Job Description:
• Performs and assists doctors with admission transfer and discharge procedures of the patients
• Assisting and providing complete care for adults and elder patients that require short and long
term care
• Performs physical examination documents and informs the designated resident and Emergency
physician for further care
• Performs the pain assessment through the use of pain scale
• Takes and records the vital signs and inserted IV line
• Implements nursing care plan and coordinates with member of the health care team.
• Collects Laboratory specimens with accurate labeling
• Assists the physician with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Performs resuscitation procedures (cardiac Massage; ambubagging; administration of emergency
drug)
• Assessing elderly patients’ status, organizing and providing necessary medications, evaluating
elderly patients’ ability to do daily routine tasks, assisting the elderly patient with daily self-care,
help perform and take vital signs of the elderly patients’
• Bathes and feeds acutely ill elder and adult patient, perform postmortem care
• Documents accurately in the chart the treatment given to the patients
• sets up diagnostic and therapeutic equipment at bedside as necessary.
• Checks the availability of stocks or drug in the unit and makes requests if needed
• Maintains cleanliness in the unit especially in the working area
• Receives and gives endorsement to the charge nurse of the next shift
• Checks charts of all patients and updates for any changes on client’s condition as necessary
• Plans, directs and coordinates all medical, nursing, and nursing related care for the clients in ER
unit/floor
• Supervises maintenance of records for nursing and medical treatments and related services
executed by nurses
• Assigns duties to nursing staff and supervises and evaluates their work performance.
• Assists in orientation of new nursing staff in the unit.
