- Spearhead EGID IT software and operations. Controlled team of 10 software engineers, database administrators and testers in developing various systems like credit bureau banking, stock brokerage, real-time data streaming, tourism, educational and social networking.
- 3rd level support for EGID Oracle database data dissemination real-time feeds and X-Stream trading engine support for brokers and data vendors in IT operations management functions.
- Design and construct an EGID Data Center in 48 racks mainly to host Egyptian stock exchange (EGX) operations, stock brokerage firms, iScore credit bureau and cloud clients as well as build and fine tuning EGID brokerage back-office system.
Lead a team of 12-14 Engineers in HQ and 5 branches for building, monitoring, and expanding Sigma’s services.
• Built and supported Sigma Order Management System and back-office using Oracle PL/SQL packages, procedures, and triggers.
• Built and supported real-time data feed using Delphi and Oracle Stored Procedures.
• Enhanced FIX client (self-developed using Delphi) functionality by adding same-day trading, T+1, suspend-resume, private-public and some other features.
• Infrastructure - Reduced internet bandwidth to 40% by building an html push technology based real-time data streamer.
• Infrastructure - Reduced OMS response time to 33% by building an 8 node Oracle 10g, 11i RAC on Redhat Linux, Oracle Internet Application Server farm with load balancing.
• Core Brokerage Business - Restructured Sigma OMS tables design to suit big data handling and reduced reports time to 25%
• Infrastructure - Network administration including LAN/WAN setup and load balancing, HQ & 5 branches connectivity of multiple ISPs for internet, VPN tunneling, MPLS.
• Infrastructure - main and sub Microsoft domains for file sharing, telephony call recording system file transfer, Exchange mail, and bulk daily mail for clients.

Project Management, leading a team of 5 software developers and coordination of various Cairo Stock Exchange and financial software and networking projects.
Developed a FIX® Gateway client that automates online trading with CASE and quantity validation with Clearance and Settlement House.
System administration for TENOC Telecom Egypt Network Operation Center project, project is funded by USAID and implemented by HP.
Project components are:
- 18 HP-UX K-class and N-class servers in clustered environment with High Availability, Shared AutoRaid storage running Oracle and Sybase databases.
- 2 Cisco routers (series 7500) connected to 49 sites (series 25xx, and 16xx) to collect exchange information.
- 40 NT Workstations for end user operations.
• Responsible for Risk Management System Kondor+ in EMNA region, which included Hardware, UNIX installation, Sybase installation, partitioning, Kondor+ installation, migration, upgrade, and support, as well as TRIARCH, DACS and DDS.
• Managed to be responsible for Reuters Cyprus IT team for two weeks during the absence of Chief Engineer.
• Supported second level a variety of Reuters systems (UNIX based, database, networking)
• Designed and implemented various Reuters IT projects In Egypt and East Mediterranean region, some examples:
- Saved a big deal to Reuters by customizing a ready-made web based trading display system.
- Achieved a better service for clients by developing a Picture Web Based server program that creates thumb nails of Reuters Picture feed, classify it and create and update web pages on a web server that stores data for the latest 7 days.
- Shared in design, installation, and project coordination of AIB (Arab International Bank) Font to back-office integration solution - using Kondor+ as front office system and RTP (Reuters Trading Processing) as back office system with TIBCO Rendezvous middle-ware connecting the two systems in WAN environment.
- Built infrastructure for 3000Xtra Thin Client central distribution using CITRIX meta-frame technology.
- Designed and implemented Cairo Stock Exchange to Reuters connection solution to distribute Stock Exchange data all over Reuters network worldwide. (Used ADSL technology, Cisco routers, Oracle DB, and VB)
- Market data collection and distribution to PTT then to clients’ pager machines using VB5, 6 (in Egypt and Cyprus).
- Designed and configured SSD (Small Site Delivery) Network, which contained 6 Central routers (Cisco 33xx series) and around 150 Client Routers all over Egypt (16xx Series), network is secured with access lists and static routing is used.
• Administrated Egypt’s In-house LAN (4 servers, 70 users) - Mail (Lotus Notes).
- Analyzed, Designed, and Coded in-house developed software systems such as inventory control, payroll using MS-Visual Basic v3 & v4: either on stand alone PC’s or client/server based networks and using various types of back-ends such as SQL Server, Access.
- Lead 3 developers, a tester, and a customer support engineer with the following responsibilities:
- Maintaining Projects schedule.
- Coordinating between designers and developers.
- Code inspection and quality control.
- Technical reference to developers.
- Share in coding by writing main and hardest parts of Modules.
- Shared in the design and coding of new libraries, investigating new methodologies, techniques, and developing tools.
- Worked as a Software programmer for finance, payroll, personnel, and Inventory Control systems.
- Trained users on ready-made packages and end-user training on in-house programmed software System administrator for LAN (with a UNIX server and around 10 Clients) Using LAN Manager.
- Maintained Previously mentioned machines in addition to another 50 Stand alone PC’s, various types of Printers (Laser, Thermal, Desk Jet, Dot Matrix).
- Reformatted Data transferred by modems to generate statistical reports on the usage of extensions using C Under UNIX.
