Review of the monthly financial report of the companies in the group.
- To ascertain that accounts have been prepared based on the underlying records of the companies.
- Identifying errors in accounts preparation and improper treatment of items in the group accounts.
- Adopting IFRS audit approach in ensuring the preparation of financial statements.
- Analysis of monthly records to appraise performance of each company ensuring that outstanding balances
of the companies in terms of Account Receivables, Account Payables, Stock at end, Cash in Hand and assets
reflect the content of the monthly statement of financial position for each company.
- Review of Budget prepared by each company within the group
- Monthly review of budget with actual performance.
- Pre audit checks and authorization of payments
- Offer support to group staff and company on accounting matters that may arise.
- Liaising with External Auditors and Tax Consultant an accounting/taxation issues.
2. Group Operational Audit
a. Review of operations of the companies within the group
- Analysis of operations and transactions to identify any area of inefficiency, ineffectiveness and uneconomic
spending adopting 3E approach.
- Ensuring that each operation is delivered effectively and efficiently.
3. Group Risk Assessment
a. Stipulating relevant audit approach for the companies within the group
- This is key as the companies within the group pose unique threats and risk.
- Identifying areas of risk mitigation within the companies in the group.
4. Group Performance Measurement
- Developing performance measurement techniques to measure and appraise group performance
- Identifying financial and non financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relevant to each companies critical
success factors (CSF) that are aligned to company and group objective.
- Appraisal of Transfer values and compensation within companies in the groups.
- Holding brainstorming sessions with group heads to best manage the group for best performance and quality
control
5. Investigation needs of the Group and independent internal appraisal.
6. Establishing, appraising and implementation of Internal Control procedures for each function.
7. Special Project and Consultancy services for the group
8. Stimulating ethical and good governance practices within the group.
9. Compliance with regulatory bodies and company/group policy and procedures.
10. Attestation and Assurance function within the group
11. Adopting analytical and communication skills to reconcile complex financial data within the group and from
third parties.
12. Training of Internal Audit staff within the group
13. Training of group staff on ethics responsibility and strategy.
14. Any other job from management/Audit Committee/GMD

Vouching of payment vouchers - post payment audit - to check completion of documentation, posting to
ledgers, proper coding to relevant accounts heads, identification of errors, casting accuracy, defalcation and
fraud.
b. Asset Management function - Review of Assets existence and Register.
c. Vouching of receipt vouchers, confirmation of bank lodgment to ensure that money and correct value has
been received from all sales of products.
d. Stock Audit and Control - Follow up of product received to ensure that they have been properly documented,
issued based on authorization
- Issuance of product approval to Jetty after confirming payment from accounts.
- Prepare daily, monthly stock issues and payment records
- Prepare customer payment confirmation sheet.
- Follow up of product loading via product monitoring sheet.
- Ensuring that all waybills issued meet standard procedure and requirement.
e. Payroll audit and control
- Review of monthly payroll sheet as a check prior to Group Head, Internal Audit & Control review.
- Updating and tracking of Delmar Petroleum staff loan schedule.
- Ensuring that statutory deductions are carried out as stipulated.
f. Bank/other Reconciliation
- Review of each months bank reconciliation of the company
- Identification of extraneous items on the bank statement prior to preparation of monthly lodgment report.
- Ensuring that payments for products have been duly made in the bank.
- Handling debtors, creditors and stock reconciliation in the company.
g. Month end Reports and Checks
- Review of companies imprest record
- Spot checks of cash and stock
- Month end stock taking exercise
