ELECTRICAL ENGINEER at LEIGHTON CONTRACTING QATAR

Responsibilities:

 Tendering for the building Electrical services elements and review in detail tender documentation conditions, scope of work and specifications for Lighting and Small Power, ELV and Fire Alarm System.
 Prepare and issue Tender stage enquiries to subcontractors and analyze returned offers to ensure compliance with contract specification and at optimized cost.
 Preparing Bill Of Quantity (BOQ) of material of the Projects.
 Provide accurate building services cost estimates and participate in subcontract negotiations ad issue recommendations whilst assisting in the preparation of building services subcontract documentation.
 Provide Technical design support in coordination with other disciplines, review and respond to subcontract design submissions and liaise with client.
 Review and advise on main contract and subcontract claims and variations whilst supporting the Civil Site Manager / Supervisors regarding installation of the building service installation on site and ensure compliance with the approved construction drawings and technical specifications.
 Coordinate on site building services activities with other disciplines, notify the Civil Site Manager in the case of discrepancies and propose swift and economical solutions.
 Prepare daily, week and Monthly Site Progress reports, obtain and review Method statements and Risk Assessments well in advance to avoid delays during constructions.
 Attending regular site meetings with subcontractor to ensure availability of required material and resources.
 Ensure use of current drawings only and file superseded drawings, provide Red marked drawings by O/E and issue to PM/CM, also record and register and maintain all filled changes for easy reference.
 Maintain the records of actual progress with respect to agreed programs with O/E and with subcontractors and initiate actions to mitigate delays.
 Maintain records and reasons for delays during construction stage.
 Maintain and agree resources engaged on “Day works” after authorization form the PM/CM.
 Ensure full Lighting, Small Power, ELV subcontractor compliance with QCS, MOI, EHS & QA requirements.
 Discharge the duties outlined in the “Task & Responsibilities for Civil” for the relevant building services sections of the works.
 Ensure at all times that all sites are operating in line with the QA procedures, statutory, regulatory and EHS requirements.
 To witness & review Factory Acceptance Test Report (FAT) ensure necessary checks has done before the dispatch of Panels from factory.
 Responsible for all the electrical work Testing and commissioning and handover of the project.
 Pre-commissioning & Commissioning checks include:
Tightness check of all the cables to Panels.
AC starting & Running Current.
ELCB Trip Test.
Emergency Battery Pack.
Megger.
Insulation Resistance check.
Illumination Level (or) Lux Level.
Photocell Functional Check.
Phase Rotation.
Voltage recorded before Energization &
Energization of all the Panels.
 Ensuring the whole work is carried out in safety standards.
 Preparing dossier and handing Over to client.
 Ensuring quality on the site including closing of Nonconformance Reports (NCR) if any.
