My position is not only limited to trouble shoot and fix issue, new projects/installations based on RHEL/Centos 6x, 7x system (Online web servers, Retail booking servers, Oracle DB servers, Gateway servers, Application servers, Content servers) in TEST environment, PRE-PROD and PROD environment, as well as configure and deploy farms on App-Director (Load balancer), create checks and balances, load servers to it for load balance.
Write bash scripts to import/export data for Oracle DB and automate applications etc. Deploy, configure Nagios 3.4.1 (Nconf) monitoring application on Linux platform, installing and configuring nrpe client on all Linux systems. Deploy Apache Tomcat 7 on Web servers, also deploy WAR files for Tomcat.
Cognizant Technology Solutions is a USA based company; I was the first technical resource in South Africa.
My job was to deploy Falcon Fraud 6.4 application on Linux OS (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) platform in the financial institution sector (e.g Banks, Insurance, Loan organizations). Application consist of Scoring server, WAS (Web Sphere Application) server, Business Object server and Oracle 11G DB server.
UCS Solutions is an IT service provider company for more than 20 years in South Africa. Their branches are in other cities (Durban and Capetown) as well. Mayor clients we look after are Massmart group, Makro, Builders Warehouse, Massmart, Dischem, Save Cash&Carry etc..
My job is to look after their Production and DR (Disaster Recovery) Linux servers (RHEL or CENTOS), mail servers (Postifx), web servers (Apache), proxy server (Squid), backup servers (TSM) at DC (Data Center) on RHEV (Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization). Dealt with new projects, server installations and applications/packages. Strong knowledge on Multipathing, LVM (Logical Volume Manager), SAN disk allocation, fiber channels scan, NFS, and bash
scripting, setting my Rack mounting server (e.g IBM 3850, 3650, 3250x, Blade Centre). Trouble shooting and problem resolving, OS and application/packages installation and assisting SAP users with other issues, end users support is also part of my job.
Most of the servers are on RHEV environment. Some servers are on IBM Blades, HS-21, HS-22, 3850, 3650 with SAN storage. Deploying new Virtual or physical servers depending on the BID/requirement. Sometimes assisting new staff and training in UNIX/other departments. Resolving calls, meeting SLA etc.
7C computing is an IT service provider company, 7C provides services like setting up Linux servers, Mail Server(Sendmail, MailScanner, Mailactive), Web Server(HTTP), Samba Server, Proxy (Squid) Server and Backup (daily and weekly) Server, Mail Archive server, Firewall (Connect7) server and workstation services.
I have got complete command on all the above services, after SLA signed with the client, I setup server according to the SLA, visited client premises, create users, email accounts and network shares on Linux server as well as on Windows, moved their e-mail and their data without any interference, during migration, fix all kind of issues on users PCs/laptops. Once installation and migration (data and e-mails) finished, helped uses in setting up network printers, setup scan-to-email or scan to file (creating a share in Samba) on network printer. of Internet security and antivirus. My duties were unconstrained to the above, also give a hand to staff in help desk and recover mails or files/folder from daily or weekly back drive (onsite backup drives). Help in trouble shooting, fixing e-mail, network and Internet connectivity problems telephonically. Sometimes write shell scripts for data/mail restore from Archive server. In case of server broken, visit the company, diagnose and fix the problem (Linux OS or ADSL connectivity) in no time
SGS is an International Company, it does auditing and inspection on incoming and outgoing good from South Africa on ISO 9000 Standards. I was working on a project called CEPECS (Custom declaration Export Payment Exchange Control System), which was running in Zimbabwe Reserve Bank, Zimbabwe. I was responsible of 5 servers (4 live production servers and 1 test server). Out of 4 production servers, 3 Linux Enterprise Edition servers (Oracle 10G Database Server, Internet Information Server, Authentication Server) and 1 Web Cache Server.
My duties were to look after these servers, system administration and smooth running of LINUX OS. Error correction in Oracle Database made by the staff and data manipulation in ZRB(Zimbabwe Reserve Bank), with the help of PL/SQL.

I was responsible of server room. Looking after all the servers (LINUX 9.0/Fedora Core2.0 & 3.0), like maintaining DNS (A, NS, MX records), Spam filter update Clamav(Clam Antivirus), Putting filters for Spam in Postfix Mail Server, Authentication Server(IC Radius, Mysql DB), Courier Mail Server (with Quica DB). Also responsible for taking backup of all the servers. I write backup scripts, Setup software RAID, setup GRUB loader for quick restore.

I was responsible for designing, configuring and implementation in setting up DNS(Domain Name Server) to resolve IP, Mail Server(using sendmail), Web Server(using apache), Proxy Server (using squid), Backup Server(Taking backup of all the machines using FTP Protocol). I used to write queries in PL/SQL to improve the billing system in Database Server(Oracle 8.0) e.g Giving more options/features to the users to access their accounts. Etc.
As a Internet Solutions Provider, I designed Mail Server (Store and forwarding) according to customer needs. This sends and retrieves at specific timings through connection to the Internet. I also configured WinProxy/Wingate Server(defining filters) for one of the clients that can serve for almost 200 users/workstations.
