Overall runing of the travel shop. Doing daily ticketing and holiday sales returns and agreeing with cash in hand. Banking of daily takings. Reconciling of shop petty cash and reporting to accoucts office. Making sure of staff levels throughout the year taking into account staff leave and sickness. In other words making sure the oprations of the sales travel shop was at optimum with maximum customer care and service. Assisting staff with difficulties in ticketing and use of computer systems. Making sure that staff are smart and good looking giving a high standard of dress code for the airline. Attending IATA meetings and conferences and reproting to area manager of any new ideas, proceedures and regulations in the travel trade field. Promoting of local promotions and presentation of the airline products and name.Fom January 1993 to March 2007 was Manager and partner in Galaxy Travels, Blantyre, Malawi. From December 2007 to March 2009 was Manager at Global Island Travel and Tours Dubai.From April 2009 to date Owner and Manager of Freshmart Supermarket in Lilongwe Malawi. Throughout the business I have been in a Managerial capacity and have been responsible for the total running of then businesses.
I am a graduate in Biochemistry however with my interests in computing and sales I joined British Airways soon after graduation. At university I did a project on brown spot on tobacco leaves as Malawi is a agricultural economy and tobacco leaves are a cash crop for Malawi. Having developed a passion in the travel and aviation industry after joining British Airways I got into sales of ticketing and marketing and how the front revenue offices work in generating money for airlines to operate.
