Head of Procurement - Upper Zakum Islands Project في National Marine Dredging Company

Project, I worked comprises of building the 4 industrial islands in the Zakum Offshore field (ADNOC). The contract amounted to AED 2.3b. Project scope covered, 23, 500, 000m3 for dredging and leveling operations, 23, 500, 000m3 for ground amelioration and 7, 000, 000 tons of stones, artificial fabrics and concrete units for beach protection works, 90, 000 units - 270, 000m3 of concrete armor units and 1, 720m of quay wall, 4 ports and protective breakers. The scope also included design and construction of a turn-key camp on one of the islands for accommodation for 1, 000 people working on the islands, including all auxiliary buildings and infrastructure. This includes amongst others an accommodation building and office, kitchen and mess hall facilities, recreation area, mosque and a clinic. The built-up area amounts to approximately 15, 000m2. Furthermore, a 3km2 lane road has been constructed. A small power plant has been set up, alongside a sewerage treatment plant and a reverse osmosis plant to make the camps self-sufficient.

NMDC engaged more than one hundred different marine plants on the project comprising of; Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers, Cutter Suction Dredgers, Rock Positioning Pontoons, Rock Transportation Barges, Backhoes, Wheel Loaders, Bulldozers, and Excavators.

• Built (with system, technology & resources) project specific Procurement & Supply Chain department right from the scratch for Upper Zakum Islands Project (project value: AED 2.3B).
