- Translating, reviewing, editing and proofreading a wide variety of documents into and out of English and Arabic, to include the following:
o ICT, EHS and other technical reports, tendering documents;
o Various legal documents such as laws, agreements, variations, MoUs, legal opinions, decrees, decisions, circulars and regulations issued by ADEC, UAE Ministry of Education or other authorities in UAE;
o Plans, policies, manuals, handbooks, guides, booklets, minutes, studies, researches, strategic plans & initiatives, financial statements, auditing reports, etc.
o Press releases, articles, newsletters, DG speeches;
o Presentations, surveys, forms, internal and external magazines, periodicals, journals, pamphlets, job descriptions, applications, code of conduct, etc.
o E-mails, letters and formal correspondences issued, received or sent by ADEC;
o Localization of ADEC websites and portals;
- Generating, proofreading and enhancing materials for ADEC staff and external stakeholders for internal and external purposes;
- Assigning, reviewing and proofreading translations conducted by trainees, temporary translators and external translation firms;
- Working on leading and managing translation projects under the supervision of Translation Team Leader;
- Liaising as necessary with the requesting division/section on the content and deadline;
- Providing language consultation to ADEC staff and consultants;
- Acting on behalf of the Translation Services Team Leader when absent;
- Assuming other duties regarding the administrative, financial and professional development activities of the Translation Services Team;
- Selected by Environment Agency-Abu Dhabi (with approval from ADEC’s Director General) to translate the documents of AD EHSMS Regulatory Framework from English to Arabic.
- Translating, editing, reviewing, proofreading and managing:
o IT and technical projects, reports, manuals;
o Localization of user manuals and software material of electrical and electronic devices;
o Legal documents such as contracts, agreements, MoUs, articles of associations, regulations, laws, certificates, etc.
o Medical, financial, religious, literary, technical and other documents;
o Press releases and periodicals issued by UAE government and private companies and entities such as ADNEC, ADNOC, ADCO, ADSC, NDC, ADSC etc.
o Magazines and publications issued by UAE government companies and bodies including ADNOC Distribution's Magazine and the ADACH’s Shawatei Magazine;
o Acting as consecutive translator in meetings;
- Leading translation projects ensuring the delivery of high quality translation on time;
- Prioritizing translation tasks so that deadlines are met;
- Handling day to day translation needs;
- Using appropriate software for presentation and delivery;
- Liaising with clients to discuss any unclear points;
Job Duties:
- Translating, editing, reviewing and proofreading:
o Legal documents such as contracts, agreements, MoAs, MoUs, articles of associations, regulations and laws;
o Press releases, articles, speeches, reports, manuals, pamphlets and booklets issued by government departments and municipalities;
o Financial, religious, medical, literary and other documents;
o Localization of user manuals and software material of electrical and electronic devices for leading companies such as Hitachi, Sony, Nokia, Samsung, etc.
o Software and website localization and technical projects;
o Political and economic news into Arabic and English for local and regional cell phone operators;
o Economic, educational and legal studies and researches;
o Media, marketing materials for leading telecommunication and IT companies;
