I have more mid-management responsibilities with my current firm, helping to manage the team along with carrying out my duties as a specialist. I also assist in developing the current procedure and developing our supply chain from a strategic point of view, with regards to such things as how to better evaluate suppliers (financially, etc.), create strategic framework agreements for high demand items that the firm needs, etc.
Procuring all services requirements for my current employer, expanding my knowledge from only turnaround specific procurement into a wider array of markets.
working in the turnaround procurement department of any company is challenging but none so like Sabic. developing time management skills is of the essence, because as a contract specialist my tasks are as such :
sending our request for quotations to vendors
sending out technical evaluations to end users.
conducting commercial negotiations
issuing purchase oders.
taking on focal point roles between end users and our team to coordinate on the required items
all these things especially in a working enviroment where everything is critical means high pressure situations is the norm.
On sited in the Empty Quarters in Saudi Arabia, i was in charge of monitoring vehicles on site going to other camps, for speed and making sure they reached their destinations on time and safely. in case of Medivac situations i was in charge of organizing and directing Medivac crew to the where they need to be. I also had to do reports at the end of the day on activities taken up by vehicles on that given day.
I'm graduating in a few months and the GPA should be around 2.5 out of 4.
