I am a Self-motivated, enthusiastic and passionate registered mental health nurse, with positive attitude to work and good work ethic.
I currently work as the mental health lead nurse/matron. My role involves being accountable and responsible for the strategic development, leadership and management of the organisations mental health agenda, providing advice and leadership to the professional nursing and quality improvement agenda.
It involves demonstrating inspirational leadership, managerial support and specialist advice throughout the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Mental Health Strategy and Improvement Plan.
It also involves establishing effective clinical pathways and referral routes for patients presenting to the emergency department and through inpatient services.
Providing appropriate advice to the nursing and medical teams and facilitate the implementation of the mental health management plan.
Directing clinical teams by providing advice and interventions to manage patients who present with complex or challenging behaviour.
Liaising and supporting families and carers throughout the decision making process.
Developing, maintaining and enhancing effective working relationships with system colleagues.
Sign posting to support agencies that patients may benefit from and educating in the mental health support availability in primary mental health where non-complex mental health needs are supported.
